I have them on my ITC roadrace car . Just to limit droop when the car is on jackstands . I think a loop of 1/4" cable and a nutted cable lock to hold the loop to it's self . Nothing fancy and works , doesn't obstruct anything either as far as suspension travel .

Not sure if you could find them, or fab something similar, but for my budget racer that had to perform decent at auto-x and drag race (used for Grassroots Motorsports $2002 challenge, actually) we were going to put some rubber things in the springs.
I'm not sure how to describe these things, but they came from the factory in Honda S2000's in their springs to keep the car from bouncing around on the trucks. My buddy snagged some while doing new car preps at his dealership.
If you've ever seen the foam spacer things that girls put between their toes to paint their nails, they look just like those, but go vertical with a 'finger' between each coil of the spring.
so kinda like ---> UUUUU
Maybe I can get a picture if I find them in my mess of a garage.
Anyway, we put a few in each spring, then wrapped the thing with zip ties or rope or something to keep them from popping out.
We never actually ran the car with them (it rained that day of the challenge and the drag race was canceled) so I can't speak to what difference they would have made...
Hope that helps more than it confuses!

I thought i read somewhere that those spring "cushions" were illegal in most scca affilliated club racing. I thought it wouldnt be such a bad idea since all those do is limit travel and in a crude way, up the spring rate at the point that they bind. Kinda like having a big, flexible jounced bumper!

Man if i had known they were gona be usefull i woulda kept all the ones i took out. Its not only to keep them from bouncing on the truck, its so they can get up the ramps, the S2000 is too low otherwise.

I used 2003 civic coupe rear konis on mine. I had to cut about 1 coil out of the stock 86 SI springs to get them to fit then I had to sit on the rear of the car while someone else started the nuts on the inside (I did all of this on the ground).
The shock is shorter but bolts right on. This really stiffened the rear of my crx and when lifted the wheel does not drop at all.
It is the car in my sig the rear is as high as it will go.
