There are cams available. (Colt? Delta? Don't really remember). There are adjustable cam gears from AEM, headers if you switch to an Si oil pan, dual weber carbs and manifold. That's about it for bolt-ons, my friend. Most of us interchange the Teg, CRX/Civic Si, JDM, and CDM parts for performance upgrades. Pistons, throttle bodies, JDM/CDM intake manifolds are interchangeable with modifications. Honda bikes can provide independent throttle bodies. Your friendly neighborhood machinist with a flow bench can do a lot for you with a p&p, head shave, and some rotating/reciprocating parts lightening.

Going to Hawaii? You need a Dune Buggy.
WTB: 14x8 or 9" Panasports or Watanabe RS.
WTB: 3g Civic hatch gauge cowl, brown.
WTB: ZC header--FOUND

I thought the carb'd 1Gs were EW series motors....
Also, most of the threads on here say upgrading the ignition doesn't do anything to a mostly stock motor.....
Mass confusion....

1987 CRX DX - Devacced, excellent interior, runs perfect, the fun car.
Note: 1G CRX's are not durable against late model motorcycles...
1995 Integra LS Sedan - Bone stock except for Brembo rotors and upgraded pads

From my understanding the EW motors are the oddball D15. My '87 Si D15 is called "EW4"

Same Same, All the stock motors for the 84/87 crx and hatch in the US are EW or d15, except HF(I think d13,EV 1), different pistons and heads between the dx and Si, smaller displacement on the hf. The labels are different depending on the year.
EW2 carb D15a1
EW4 inj D15a3
EW5 cvcc inj, europe I think.

My 87 CRX DX has a D15A2 label on the frame. Oddly enough, when I looked up its base stats on Wikipedia, the D15A2 motor is listed as the HF model's Engine for that year. It says nothing about the DX. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_D_engine#D15A2)
* Found in:
o 1984-1987 Honda CRX HF
+ Displacement : 1488 cm3
+ Bore and Stroke : 74 mm X 86.5 mm
+ Compression : 9.6:1
+ Power : 58 hp @ 4500 rpm & 80 ft·lbf @ 2500 rpm
+ Valvetrain : SOHC
+ Fuel Control : carburete
I really hope that isn't the case, numbers wise. If so, I'm SO gonna need to do at least an Si head swap. I better start looking for a new motor (even though mine works just fine)

Damn 58 HP...
tell me about it. I was a little shocked when I learned that. But that doesn't make sense to me, its listed as the HF model's engine. Do they do something different to the DX model's version or something? It can't be right, it just can't be...

Why use wikipedia when you can just look at a Honda brochure, that be more accurate. I think my brochure says something like 81 for a DX but i haven't looked at it for a while.

I thought the wikipedia site linked a honda brochure, I'll have to double check that though...
