Hi RPR I am new to the 3rd gen civic world I just recently bought a 85 civic 1500s for 400$ from the original owner. I was wondering if i could get some insight on converting it to fuel injection. I already have the SI fuel pick up and pump and cluster. I'm confused with the wiring part of it i have been searching forums for about a month and was thinking about swapping the whole cabin harness to a 87 Si would that be a move in the right direction?

I swapped my DX Crx to fuel injection last year.  I swapped the body and engine harness, along with Si tank, hard fuel lines, pump, cluster, fuel filter, ECU and all the necessary engine compartment bits to complete the conversion.

I documented a decent bit of it in my thread in the projects section.  Titled something like "Niccer's '86 DX & '87 Si", should be towards the top.

Just want to back up what niccer said. I converted a base Civic hatchback to OEM fuel injection, and you just need to get all the Si parts. You'd have to make a couple of holes and add firewall brackets for the fuel lines and filter assembly, but it's all pretty straightforward. The hardest part is removing the dash to do the lines/wiring and then putting it back. If you built Legos as a kid, you're qualified.
No power . . . no weight

I'm going to embark on the exact same project next summer! I have a pristine 87 DX hatch low original miles and absolutely zero rust that was built as an automatic. Waiting in the wings as a donor is my totally rusted out but perfectly running 87 Si. As soon as I clear out a couple CRX projects the Civic is going in my shop and being stripped down to a bare shell and being rebuilt from the shell up as a show car quality Si sans sunroof.
I also have a 2nd Si hatch parts car in case anyone needs some parts.
I also have a full blue interior if anyone needs parts (or even the whole interior) from that!
