On healthcare:
Sure, wouldn't it be wonderful if everyone had access to affordable healthcare? Some say the healthcare systems of other countries work fine for them. Take a good hard look at their 50-70% income taxes! The American economy has done quite well with low income taxes--look at our GDP and stock market growth under the Bush administration.

Whether the healthcare is admistered by a free market system/private companies or the government, you will pay either way. And if the government pays for a centrally controlled system, you will pay even more because it will be less efficient. We need regulation of the current system that has covered Americans for decades.

regulation on current health care is going to help the 38% (BY some studies granted) of americans who are assed out by the current system

healthcare is an easy fix we need universal health insurance
1. shut down for profit companies
2. a goverment/ 1 system health coverage will pool the largest numbers
3. charge each american a premium for coverage or have employers pay as well
4. control cost of healthcare ( presciption, negotiated price of procedures, what not

lets face the fact private health insurance is poor to mediocre to begin with
if it is socalisedyou are probally going to get the same level of care, only faster
you more likley to die with kaiser health insureance vs getting hit by a bus in my opinion

300 million x 20.00(month) =6billionx12 36 billion a year for premium match that with co-pay and/ or ded
basic health is in reach we need smarter people than me on it
let say we also ask for all employers to kick in 10 buck a month per employee

150 mil employes (Its a guess ) x 10.00 1.5 bil month 18 bil yr

thats doable

Does that include the 3-6% of Americans who are not in fact Americans, but Mexican and other foreign nationals? Our hospital's ER gets a steady flow of illegals using it for free health care - I hear it's worse in LA.

As I have just found out, We don't have a illegal imigrant problem until crxls cannot order a quarterpounder with cheeze @ Mikky Dzzzzzzz, because the person behind the counter doesn't understand him.

Now we are getting wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy off topic, in an off topic discussion.

Not really off-topic. immigration is one of the biggest issues for this election.
Socialists clinton and obama would likely give all the illegals amnesty.

Im all for people immigrating here, LEGALLY.

1. You are asking to shut down private companies? Private companies are the primary way that goods and services are procured in this country. It always has been that way.
2. You are basically asking that every American with a job pays for every American without a job. One less reason to have a job to begin with.
3. If each American pays equally, you will have a minimum wage janitor paying the same premium as a $500k/year corporate executive. Is that fair? The janitor may as well quit and get his insurance while his wife works.

You said that smarter people should be put onto the problem. By doing that, you also mentioned the problem with a socialized system. More smart people working for the government on healthcare means fewer smart people working at NASA, NOAAA, the armed forces, the National Institutes of Health, and so forth, and sucking away brains from the private industries even. You'll need more smart people because it is government. IMO, government is not good a picking smart people anyway. They just don't manage their operations as well as a well-trained corporate executive in private industry.

As Reagan said: less government is better government. I agree with that.

1 for profit companies in health care is why we american spend more in heath care then other countries and 38% do not have access to care at all,
for profit companies are causing health care cost to increase only in this sector would i say there should be no for profit health care companies
my idea is no for profit basic health ins but for profit health ins supplemental plans this does not mena nonprofit medical suppliers ,pharmasutical companies, hospitals etc

2. yes i am asking every american with a job to pay for the american that dont( their children, possibly parents) not hard to do if ia m asking 20.00 a month per person and for most people this would put a crap load of more money in their pockets vs their current plans

with unemployment rate less the the illegal rate this is not to be worried about

3. as insurance works now the janitor pays more for less insurance that a corprate executive making 500000 a year
so if they are paying the same score one for the janitor this isnt a tax rate it is Insurance in insurance the cost is spread out evenly to all members than modified by risk. for example if a state has higher than normal rate of accidents insurance rates would increase for all driver even those without accidents
4. i dont think there are a short supply of smart people were are importing by the ass load from other countries\
there is a shortage of natural born americans with degrees... because the us is paying for immagrants education rather than helping theri own people out

any one from africa- free ride
any one from the us - gotta pay for school

acturairals dont work for nasa they work in insurance

yes that is a problem

lets call that an engineering problem

it can be solved

as for immagration is say modified amenesty
reduce entering this country illegaly to a misdemeanor
charge a fine

then tax the shit out of that immagrant just like i am getting taxed

to me our problems (hospitals roads school are not going toget better if imagrants diappeared
but can improve with additional tax dollars that these people would bring in

oh to keep america great give texas to mexico its just bringing down the greatness average from the rest of the 49 states

Legalize then tax. Could work. That's my position on drugs actually. Since I don't use any, I see it as an exploitable revenue stream. Which is a nonsmoker's view of tobacco, and look how well that's worked out (four bucks and change for a fifty cent packet !@^&*).

With illegal medical immigrants, I say we start billing the Mexican government for health care provided to its citizens in the U.S. A national health would make that easier, as it would be government vs. government rather than private corporation vs. government. One of two things will happen - the trade imbalance will start to even out, or the Federales will start taking their side of the border seriously.

As for importing smart people - I'm only half jokingly of the mind that Canada is set to experience a lot of this in the near future. People who are bothered by the degradation of freedom in the USA tend to be at the higher end of the IQ scale - so our neighbors to the north can expect some talented immigrants soon. In particular they have a provision in their constitution for the protection of irreligious freedom, which is appealing to the 10-14% of Americans who are agnostic and/or atheist - a population which cuts a wide swath through the middle of the hard sciences. Plus they aren't as uptight about stem cell research. And they have the Tournament of Hearts on basic cable (stupid ESPN isn't picking up the TSN.ca feed).

I agree with ghost.. We are paying right now for "non workers" ANYWAY in the form of MEDICAL or any other welfare program.. Many people SCAM the system anyway to get free Government aid medical care, Who pays for it? WORKING TAXPAYERS DO!

I agree with GIL on the immigration issues, BILLIONS lost yearly that come out of our pockets, CRIME,DRUGS,Deportation costs, jailing costs.. The list goes on & on..

Personally I think the whole welfare system needs a reform. There are just too many scamming the system costing us BILLIONS each year, and making me wait to go grocery shopping until the middle of the month.. Have you ever tried shopping near the 1ST of the month? JEEEZUS.

My neighbor collects welfare for her and 3 kids $600 food stamps and $1200 check(she does not work) and gets FULL government health care, her boyfriend of 6 years lives with her and makes $2500 a month .. Thats $4300 a month income!! The thing is .. ITS LEGAL??? WTF.. As long as they are not married, they say they never will get married due to the fact of the *free income/benefits*! They have a new Tahoe, jetta 1.8T,Accord v6,chevy 1500 truck.. Paid for by welfare! He brags about scamming the system all the time. It sucks..

The current "leading" presidential candidates are like a huge popularity contest/joke.. OK ASHTON KUTCHER please come out.. You have Punk'd all of America.

Yes I do vote..

Common Law marriage is non-existent here in California.
