I ordered a reman'd distributor from the parts store and it arrived without the cap and another piece which I don't know the name of, but it spins on the rotor and almost makes contact with the posts that stick out inside the cap.  No biggie on that part, I took the one off my carb'd motor's distributor.  My problem is with the cap.  It doesn't look like the ones in my fsm and I'm not sure if it's right since with my engine at TDC, the rotor points to cylinder 3.  (pretty sure I'm at TDC on cylinder 1).

Here's a picture of it, which I assume is off an '85 CRX Si.

I'm going to read back through the fsm tonight regarding the timing and make sure I'm where I'm supposed to be, but thought I'd go ahead and post this up.  Just want to see if it's even the right cap before I sink too much time into sorting everything out.

The spinner is called the rotor.  Is that off a carb'd EW1?  Ida made you a heck of a deal on one that i put cap, rotor, and ignition module ($95) in and ran for 10 laps.....  like $20 and shipping with NGK wires and spanking new plugs.  Cap looks right to me although I think you can also get the traditional looking cap.  That type just puts them in order and makes the wires look prettier.  Can you look inside and tell which post runs where?  Could be 180* out if pointing at 3

Nope, the cap in the picture was sitting inside Joseph's parts car engine bay when I pulled the D15A3.  I grabbed it since I figured it went with the motor even though there was no distributor.  Don't tell me about the deal you would have given me dammit!!!  I just spent over $200 on this distributor and am pretty upset it isn't even complete.  Maybe I can return it and buy yours?  lol   But seriously...

Wont need this dizzy either once I go OBD-I .  I'm going to use the turbo off the old mercedes on this little 1.5L of fun!!!  We should have both skipped the D15A3 in retrospect.  At least we can claim all original....

Seriously, I've tried getting rid of it and can't.... It was a bummer that the igniter went out somehow when the engine wasn't even in the car? Ordered a new module from oreilly, to the tune of $100 after taxes, ran it 10 laps at god-knows-what-rpm and threw a rod. So the module and plugs have 4 miles on them.

That's for a D15A3, full distributor?  Let me know and I'll PM you.
