in my car now i currently have the stock si ew motor...but i have a b20b complete motor outof a 96 crv....i was originally gonna use that with a ys1 tranny and be done with it...BUTTTT after many thoughts and reading a few topics on the sleeves of the b20 i've decided to sell it or trade for something else....not looking for a superfast high power motor...my thoughts were as follows:
info is from hmotorsonline...so bare with me if anything is incorrect
b16a DOHC vtec (88-91 SIR1) 160hp and 111 trq
DOHC zc (88-92 civic) 129hp and 106 trq
D15b SOHC vtec (130Hp 92-95 Civic VTi (JDM)
and might as well throw the SOHC zc in it as well
i mean the obvious answer from most people would be b16a because of the power gain
what does everyone think i should go with? im just looking for a nice clean swap with some added power looking to run high 14s or mid 15s on a mildly built motor

The B16a can be found in a USDM Honda/Acura; so no need for the JDM hassle. And there are quite a few members who have done the swap who can help and offer a lot more information. Makes about 140-160hp stock.
The "DOHC zc (88-92 civic)" would require custom engine mounts, etc. So the USDM D16A1, from the '86-'89 Integra, is a good substitute that has been swapped into many 1gen CRX's, and is probably the easiest. Depending on the model, it would make about 113-118hp stock.
The "D15b SOHC vtec (130Hp 92-95 Civic VTi (JDM)" can be found in the USDM '92-'95 Civic in the form of the D16Z6. That swap also requires custom engine mounts, but there is a member on here who has a writeup on it that can be found HERE. Makes about 135hp stock.
The D16A1 would probably put you in mid 14's, low 15's. Making some nice added power for a simple/direct swap into a daily driver.

No, and yes.
The Z6 is a 1.6L with vtec. the D15b is... not as good.
But yeah, for the B16, you would need HASport mounts; or find a member who makes them...

i would personally go with the d15b and than.... turbo..... hehe, the singles are cheap and found a lot, the swap doesn't seem that hard so that would be a good option.
b16 is nice, but ..... just depends how much you want to spend.
also, what do you want for the b20?

That would be good. The '88-'89 D16A1 pistons have a higher comp ratio than the Z6/Y8 pistons/rods and will bolt right in, so that's a good place to start if you don't want to shell out a lot for aftermarket units. I'm not too sure about a cam though.

That would work too. No point it going to waste.

No prob. The wiring should be similar to any 88+ D16 swap, if that helps broaden your search.
