Did some work on some of the smaller things for the swap today.

 

machined a bung to weld to the side of the radiator for the fan switch.

 

we are making a custom throttle cable bracket.  It will use an oem cable, I have one from an Element.  It changes the angle that it comes off the TB so it’s flatter.  This will help keep it from being smashed up against the hood.  Brian drew it up today, cut it on the laser then we bent it up.  Next we will test fit it to ensure the angles are right.  If so we will weld it up and powder coat it.

 

also designed, cut and bent up a battery holder.  It’s going to hang from the original engine mount point.  It puts the battery right in front of the transmission in a nice open spot leaving room for the intake to go over the top.  Need to do one final bend, but couldn’t do it on the HASport bender.

 

Small things but all need to be done.

is this a factory copper radiator or aftermarket aluminum? those are true welding skills either way

This is an aluminum radiator that is actually for a VW scirocco.  Brian found these work well in the K swaps, especially if you track your car.  
 

it is fun creating the parts that’s for sure.

That is something Brian is looking at as it will also help other chassis with the RBB manifold and possibly others.

Spent time today refining some of the parts we have been working on.  
 

made some final adjustments to the throttle cable bracket to perfect cable alignment.

 

also made some more progress on the hydro conversion brackets.  They need some other tweaks but very close.

 

we also made another set of radiator brackets and test fitted those today. Looks like they are going to work perfectly.  Radiator was also modified by removing and welding shut the overflow tube, have one on the filler neck already.  Also welded the bung I made for the fan switch to the side of the radiator.

Did some work today on the swap.

 

test fit the first production version of the axles.

Also did some work on radiator hoses to see what will work and mocked up the cooling fan.
