I think that keeping a wastegate is generally a good idea. That's the easiest and most common, and perhaps even the only way to effectively control boost. if the wastegate actuator for the internal wastegate wont fit, then perhaps you should just weld up a flange for an external gate on the manifold, and go that route. Just an idea...

Okay, I have 2 CRX's, an '85 HF and an '86 DX. I've decided to sell them both. The red one is the HF, and the white one is the DX.
1985 CRX HF:
140,000 miles, 5spd, 1.5l, black interior, runs drives good, body okay for year - has dents on hood like it was hailed by golf balls or something, and some cracks in the plastic here and there, but there are only a couple rust areas. The interior is pretty good except the side bolster on the driver's seat. Good tread on the tires. I just changed the oil in it and haven't driven it yet since. Also recently had distributor cap replaced.
1986 CRX DX
112,000 miles, 5spd, 1.5l, blue interior, I haven't started this car, a friend of mine that knows about these motors said it needs a distributor. It turns over fine, so the motor is good, but it doesn't start up. It has new spark plugs, new distributor cap/rotor, fresh oil change/tranny oil change, only has a driver's seat, and the floor carpet is kinda stained up (some oxy clean should brighten it right up), this one has a little bit more rust than the red car, but it still isn't too bad.
I'm asking $650 b/o for the Red CRX HF (50+ MPG!!); make me an offer and we'll work something out
$150 takes the White 1986 CRX DX; come and get it!

barely any rust, runs good, 140k, interior good except side bolster on drivers seat, something weird with the turn signals not clicking back (...no idea...) but it aint hard to click them back yourself, pretty much stock but has kenwood door speakers and a polished muffler (had it in my garage and decided to throw it on) I'd say $1000 b/o, but make me an offer if it seems unreasonable.

Yea, the written explination kinda makes sense but i'd really like to see a diagram, because i'm a visual learner too. That way it's that much harder to screw up.

how much 'should' it cost to have a carb rebuilt? It could cost that much if a mechanic is charging shop rate to do it, and have to take it out of the car and put it back in, couldn't it? That would only take like 3hrs + parts to rack up $300

Dang, you're nice to your kid. I had to buy my first car...'97 Dodge Neon DOHC, still have it too! I think I've put like 7k into it in the past 1.5 - 2 or so years. I'm proud of it, and my brother decided he wants it now that he's 16 so I gave it to him for $1500...low miles too (74k) He got a steal

well, yea + cash is always an option, it just depends on the car....like if I trade my red car that runs perfectly fine for a rusty 2G that doesn't run, I'm not going to offer any extra $$, but if they're both in comperable condition, of course a few bills is always negociable. Mason is near Lansing...pretty much in the middle of the lower peninsula.

I have 2 CRX's, both are 1G's. One is an 85 HF, and the other is an 86 DX. Anyone want to trade one of these for a 2G CRX? It doesn't have to be really nice, or even run for that matter. I want one for a project car, but would like to keep one of my 1G's for a daily driver. PM me or send me an email! [email protected]
