I was just wondering if any one else had the pop up roof scoop that vents air into the car just behind the rear vision mirror. Does it actually work and who has it?
I did a search and nothing came up, is this because it's uncommon or am I looking in the wrong place?
If you have no idea what I'm talking about I'll post pics later.

The only place I have seen one is on the Mugen CR-X model kit, so I assume it's on the Mugen Race cars.

It's a pop up air vent I'm talking about. Maybe it's JDM goodness. I'll post pics in a few hours.

thats pretty cool. I wonder how much air you lose, due to the water drains that have to be present? its still a cool piece.

Looks like that vent would flow quite a bit of air while driving on the highway.
Only one thing about it that makes me cringe - damn drain tubes!

This system may be more complex than it looksand very custom job. The vent is located just in front of the rear window sprayer. Drain tube issue would be similar to oem sunroof draining out the rear I would think.
The interior vents are located just behind the sunvisors. It would appear that the air has to do a major u-turn to get from the rear to the front. Hard to tell in the picture but there would have to be a lowered channel for the air to travel. The interior light looks to be in about normal location.
The mechanism that lifts the vent has to be accommodated in the channel as well. Was the vent a solid unit or were those a kind of bellows system when raised? If solid it would need to insert fairly deep but doesn;t look so on the inside.
My Mini van has something similar but very plain vanilla. It is just a lid that flips up and a hole!
This would probably work better but again water may be an issue. JS

The headliner is about 75mm (3 inches) lower in the centre. Is it possible that it's oem?
