So far this community seems pretty kool. As the owner of Serious Customs I am by NO means a newby to the scene, but I am not versed w/ the 1G CRX. sad.gif I just picked one up a week ago and the teardown is complete (87 HF). Time for the build process. smile.gif What are the current lowering options that we have. I know GC has the rear coilovers.... and outside of adjusting the torsion bar up front does that do it? smile.gif if so I think an air setup will have to suffice... smile.gif School me!!

The rear has a solid axle and a panhard bar, so when lowering the rear the axle will shift towards the drivers side, thus it is wise to use a adjustable panhard bar... you can get one from opm or go for the real stuff and get a redpepperracing one.

On the front you will only be able to lower it about 1/2 inch by useing the "bolt", so to lower it more you will need to remove the t-bars and reindex them... my own theroy is that on the crx one spline will give you 1/2'' to 1 1/2'' of lowering depending on the bolt, and 2 splines will give you 1 1/2'' to 2 1/2'' of lowering depending on the bolt and 3 splines will give you 2 1/2'' to 3 1/2'' and any lower your tires would be off the ground.

Also when lowering the front you can file or grind off the brake brakets on the front struts and lower them in to the hub about a 1 1/2'' so you will have that much more suspeion travle on the fron struts.

EDIT: here is a example of a car with 3 splines and the bolt all the way up, civic EG springs in the rear.click

If your going for bags there is a member here that has equipped his civic with them. The civic and teh CR-X share teh same suspension so you should talk to him about that.

First off, welcome to the board. So tell us about the build process. What are you going to do to it? Build up a D15A1/EW1 engine? Do a D16A1 or ZC swap? Step up to B-series POWWA?

I originaly purchased a b16b for this project. But last week I had a customer back out on a b20 after I purchased it through my shop. Seeing as how I can sell b16s all day I think I will use the b20 in the CRX. That way I am not sitting on a b20 for months until I can move it. I can move b16s pretty easily so that's the smartest thing to do. So for now a mildly built b series for power, as well as a hefty diet. I am networking w/ another shop here called Hurricane Motorsports for the weight reduction. As far as suspension goes, I am only PARTLY contemplating an air setup (my 4g Accord is bagged). After finding the Energy Suspension, Suspension Techniques, and Cusco suspension components I think I can have a pretty respectable suspension setup w/out bagging it.
