it was a bit of time but not long. i found not all the car seat can do this. you need a fairly flat bottom on them. i found the honda seats are ok for this. then i took my old chair and used the 6 holes and centerd the chair to it and its fine. only thing is its top heavy. so it falls over some time if i get out when its in a reclined mode.

Nice job, 3gencivic! looks pretty good. i've often thought about getting an old bucket seat to make a special chair for my PS2 - ... make a set up for Gran Turismo action. smile.gif

I've been wondering... Does that special GT4 wheel come with a shifter and pedals with a clutch?

I dont think so, I wish they would get the technology to do that though.

The special thing about the new wheel is that its got like 900 degrees (dont know the exact number) of rotation, like a real car. Insteas of the 1 turn lock-to-lock arcade crap.

I'm sure they've got the technology, they're just cheap, or they don't see enough of a market for it. smile.gif

I've always wanted a full simulator driving game. I want to be able to grind the gears, stall the car out, everything. biggrin.gif
And I've always wanted to buy or make a full driving console for the game to go with it... a car seat, shifter, pedals, and a full turning radius steering wheel like the one they're releasing.

I agree with ya'll. Would be nice for a future version of Gran Turismo to have a Logitech racing wheel with a clutch for the full effect. smile.gif I saw the new wheel at the May E3 and sadly there is no clutch, but overall the wheel and stick are nice. Anyone remember the first version of the logitech wheel? They made a limited edition red one with a momo wheel and metal skidplate for the pedals... it was like $200 and not available in the States. smile.gif

Well this is'nt a console game but theres this game at a local arcade that is similar to that to where if you don't push in the clutch you can't get it into gear but its a Ferria(S/C) F350 Challenge But dos'nt stall out but pretty damn cool enough for me!

Yeah, it has a clutch, they say it improves your launches in the game... never got the hang of it.

F355 Challenge also has a clutch and real gated 6-speed shifter, very cool.

The only other game I played that has a clutch function is Viper Racing, you can stall the car in that game!

As far as integrating a clutch into games... I can't see it happening, because most games don't use clutch functions, and the majority of racers are newbs, and race auto anyways...

Thats one thing I liked about NFSIII & IV, the automatic cars were not as fast as the Standard cars... so if you don't have the guts to use the shifter, you better be damn fast on the track!

Cheers,
Mark
