1986 CRX DX 5speed. It idles fine arounnd 750 but when the brake is applyed it will increase to around 1100 then when the brake is released it will fall to 500-600 and seems like it will die out. Could this be the brake booster, has anyone had simular problems like this?

Oh sorry, I forgot to mention that it has a very slow brake fluid leak.

Fix the leak.

The brakes are connected to the engie via a vaccum line. Check your vaccum line and replace as needed.

If the brake fluid is missing with no idea where it is, it could be an internal master cylinder leak. The brake fluid will eat away at the diaphram in the booster.
