I think it is too aggressive for my tastes...I think it would have looked better if it wasnt so exaggerated, but I think that was your original idea

I really applaude the try. Sometimes you have just got to see if an idea will fly.
Destroying it in response to comments is a bit over the top in my opinion, but I've seen that type of comment on other forums and I just don't frequent them in response. Their loss as I see it. On the rare occasion I do get critical, I try to keep it based on facts/opinions, and pm the person to confirm it's not a personal or gratuitous attack.
I have been known to cut into the supporting ribs to clear bits of the engine and radiator, so I know where you were going from in the exercise.
I personally didn't like the raised centre panel, but that because I think the gen 1 crx's look too front heavy in profile already, and I wouldn't want to add to that effect. For instance, I paint the lower front lip black for this reason. But I also have the 'power bulge' in my current bonnett even though I don't really need it, but I like the look. Purely aesthetics, and my personal taste.
But seeing what you did and how it worked, what I'd like to try now is a more angled hood to see if we could get a bit of areodynamic downforce at the front.
Some of the elements for that were in your hood. Get a low profile radiator, rake it, replace the front top crossbeam in the middle with a dropped fabrication, put a sloped middle panel into the hood that rakes up to about where yours ended. I'd have to think about the aerodynamics at speed.
Did your fabrication obscure the drivers line of sight by much?
And is someone going to say its been done, look here? (I confess I didn't search.)

If you had a Hemi I might like it. For me the lines are too square on the edges. It needs to be rounded out more like BP mentioned. Dude, you just have too much time on your hands! Now get your butt over here and help me repair my damaged one piece CF hood so I can put it on the car. If nothing else I need some repair advice. Can I send you some pics for some help on what needs to be fixed. Send me a PM with your email address. JS
