hey everyone i came across a killer deal on a 90 integra with a b18 in it but it was wrecked but the engine runs strong and i have driven it a little and theres a lot of power
so i wanna drop it into my 3g is this swap the same thing as any b series or is it different

would i need different axles or would the ones out of the integra work?

i dont care about the wiring because my 3g is a dx so i would just put the whole harness in

and how many mounts would i have to change?

i have searched everywhere on this sight but i cant seem to find any info on this swap but i do know that people have done it
so any help would be great

Its the same as any other B-swap.

Hasport axles, mounts, custom shiflinkage, wiring.

And truthfully you should search a little harder, i know of about 3 buildthreads still at the top of the projects section that include B-swaps.

straight from the wiki...
it does mention that the b20 out of a lude is no good, but other than that a B is a B, your biggest issues are funds, wiring, the intake mani, and alternator bracket... so essentially everything needs to be swapped out... really though check the wiki, it has ALL the information for swapping a B or a D... this site has been around long enough that damn near everything has been tried at least once..

To swap any B-series engine into your CRX you are looking at a minimum of $3-4000 by the time it done.

The B16A and the B18A (the 90-91 B18A) are going to be the easiest as far as wiring is concerned due to sharing the obd0 format.
The B18B (94+ non-VTEC) and B18C (GS-R) are all OBD-1 or OBD-2 motors meaning that you'll have to do all the wiring necessary for the B16A & B18A swap and then some. OBD-1 is regarded as superior in tune-ability and, to many, is well worth the extra effort.
The B18C would be the most expensive route setting you back $2-3500 for the engine package alone.
The B18A would be the least expensive assuming you could find a decent junkyard powerplant.
The USDM B20B style intake manifold will not fit. USDM B20Z style does fit in 3G, unaware of test in 1G
The GSR intake manifold won't fit anyway, unless you can move the engine forward or the firewall backwards.
The B20A3/5 and B21x# from cars such as the 90-91 Prelude is nothing like the later model B20B/Z, B16, B18a1/b1/c# models. The motor sits at a different angle than all the other B series motors, uses different mounts, and generally are not preferred even in the cars they came in. The Hasport mounts will do you no good with this motor. It does have good output, and most sources say the boost well, but all agree, they are not worth the hassel in a 1st gen.
A stock GSR motor will not fit without serious mods to the firewall or mounts. but they are essentially the same thing, both 1.6L DOHC powerplants, the browntop producing 118hp, and the blacktop making 120 or 130

thanks i got the whole car and it runs great but i cant drive it because it was rearended so i have everything for the b18 im just really worried about the axles and hubs will i need to use 88 teg hubs with custom axles? or do the 88 teg axles work with the b series engine?
or do i just have so get some axles custom made for this swap?

you need the hubs from the 88 teg, and custom axles... hasport sells them for $$$... i don't know if raxles still makes them.. you also need the mounts from either innovate or hasport... again more $$$ you're in for a headache with wiring though... expect to spend at least another $800-1200.... keep us posted

86-89 Integra Hubs/Knuckles for the larger outer CV Stubs.
HASport Axles (22.5") or Raxle Axles (22.75")
HASport Billet Aluminum or Innovative Mounts Steel
HASport or Cut & Weld Shift Linkage, IIRC i had to add 3/4" to both rods.
Fuel Lines will probably have to be custom, unless youve got a big box full of Misc Honda Fuel Lines
Radiator hoses should use 97-01 CRV Upper, and 90-91 Integra LS Lower
Throttle Cable will be from a 90-91 LS Integra

i don't think hasport makes shift linkages anymore... or at least it's not up on their site anymore... is it a deal people just cut with keithg? or what?

I havent looked, i just figured they still made them. But now that i think about it, I dont think they even sell the Linkages for the 88-91 B-Swap cars, so im sure they wouldnt do the 84-87 anymore.

But its not the hardest thing to cut and weld if you know somebody with a welder. I used Box tubing that fits perfectly over the shafts.

And mine is a B20Z, very similar to the LS B18s.

I also don't think that the shift linkage is available anymore. As mentioned, not that hard to weld. When I did mine replaced the sloppy bushings at the tranny with a steering u-joint.

I work for a company that puts B motors in the old school Mini Coopers. We get axles from a company called the Drive Shaft Shop. I am the wire guy from Mini Tec and I am in the process of starting a build using my '85 CRX Si with a B16A. I make a custom harness that can make the swap a lot easier. It is made from an OBD1 dash harness that is cut down to eliminate everything that is not necessary to the build. PM me ti talk about it if you are interested.
