So I have been fighting with getting my bars indexed just how I want them. I was one tooth off and then the second tooth over made it so the adjustment nut could not be on in order to line up both key ways. Perhaps it’s my 10% Polish side, per ancestry.com, but I just struggled getting them keyed how I needed. Once you have cut you can’t then cut the tooth next to it, you have to skip a tooth.
so after watching a bunch of YouTube videos and speaking to a friend I realized Honda made this more difficult then it needs to be by keying both ends of the bar. Most torsion bars are only keyed on one end like the VW bug and many trucks. A friend said he just removed the keyed spline from the tube, well actually you turn it Into two splines.
it turns out that larger spline in the torsion bar tube is actually already partially cut. So 5 minutes with a jewelers triangle file and one big spline becomes two normal splines. Now you can index the bar any way you want and never have to cut your torsion bars.
Honda life lesson for the day. Hope this helps someone else some day.
