Help Dead 3Gen Si

06 October 2017 - 08:30 PM

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum but I thought this was the right place.

So I drove my car to work, worked, and 8 hours later go out to start it. Sound like it's starting, fuel pump primes, but has no revs, dies the instant I touch the gas. If I try to restart, it doesn't even, just cranks and smells like gas.

The PGMFI, Battery and Oil lamp all came on and didn't go off. I had some water get into the rear passenger foot-well area, forgot my sunroof was open in the rain.

I have a new fuel pump, newer plugs, blocked-off FITV, and the car's been running fine for a year plus.

I'm hoping the  ECU isn't dead. But other than that, could it be the TPS? The ECU didn't light up or throw any codes during cranking though.

I feel odd asking for help like this, but I don't have the car in front of me, it's getting towed to my place tonight.

Again, thanks!

Oh and lastly, if the ECU us dead, can I use any 86-87 Si ECU, or a Teg from 86-87? I do happen to have the larger Teg injectors on the car now. I've got a source for the Teg ecu, but if it won't work I won't install it.

Big Brake Upgrade Clarification

17 May 2017 - 10:11 PM

Hey 3rd gen guys, I read the FAQ and got a little lost. Right now I have the Teg calipers, rotors and pads. My Brake booster is failing (Pedal slowly sinks to floor) and I think my master may be failing as well as pedal travel is pretty far before the brakes do anything. The pedal moves about 1.25 inches before doing much. But when it engages it engages well. Master and booster are both stock to the Si civic. The master is new, but I think it might be a bad seal? Not sure.

Anyway, I want to keep my rear aluminum drums, but the master and booster to match the Teg calipers.

From what I read, I need a Booster off an 87 Prelude? Si or Carbed? And this will allow the booster to fit to the Civic firewall but mount the Teg master?

Apologies if this is answered already but I swear I read the FAQ and about 4-5 other threads.
