just for an update yeah, my fuel line is braided/synthetic rubber and i was under the impression it would work.. but SOMEHOW it leeches tons of fumes, not from the connections, but from the line itself. im ordering a teflon hose asap (earls speed flex -6) this shit is expensive but at least i dont have to mess with it ever again  mad.gif

So, what kind of connectors are you going to use with the teflon hose? Do standard AN fitting work?

Isn't it amazing how those gas fumes can get through that beautiful looking expensive steel braided hose? Warning to everyone: Don't EVER install a steel braided (rubber) fuel line inside a car! Really! Don't do it. I'm angry at myself because I read some posts at another site warning about fumes, but figured they were exaggerating. HAH! They were not!

yeah totally man im pissed i blew 50 bucks on a supposedly perfect aeroquip -6 braided hose. the -6 AN hose end fittings im gonna get are specific to the speed flex brand hose, so ill be sure to order them at the same time. its really important to get the matching brand hose and hose ends otherwise they might not fit properly

actually i just got some pics today of my fuel pump mounted and everything hooked up to high pressure lines.. maybe i can post those sometime because it was a real pain in the ass to get it shoehorned in there lol

I hear you! Trying to mount the pump so the supply side line wasn't kinked, and still have some solid mounting points, was a bitch. I just hope you don't have the same problem that I've got now. The MSD fuel pump came with nice rubber lined mounting clamps. However, the rubber lined clamps still transfer the pump noise to the car's sheet metal. Since the pump is mounted in the well outside, right behind the driver's seat, the noise from the pump is quite loud inside the car. I'm going to try securing the fuel hoses to the car chassis a few inches from the pump and just let the pump hang free in the air.

I hope your pump install is quieter than mine!!!

All these little frick'n details...
