Yo How about Bullet with Steve Mcqueen, anyone see the 15 min car chase between the 68 Mustang (DROOL I LOVE THAT CAR) and the oldschool charger, thats one of the best chase scenes Ive ever seen, if you turn out the light in the room and watch it its almost like your in the car with him Awsome scene, too bad the rest of the move sucked

Lap of the Gods is pure bliss, there's two parts to it actually. If you haven't seen it, it's basically footage of grand prix cars lapping during practice sessions during actual grand prixs, with the camera mounted to the roll hoop. There's a 30 second intro by Murray Walker for each segment, then 2 -4 minutes of nothing but engine and visual. Pure heaven!
They usually show it on Speedvision in the evenings of a weekend when there is a grand prix on.
And Tom, that movie you mentioned is ringing a bell. Are you thinking of the one where these thieves take minis or beetles and put race engines into them? and drive through tunnels upside down and all that? I remember seeing that one a long time ago, I forget the title though!

If it's Thieves with Minis......It HAS to be "The italian Job" with Micheal Caine. There is some pretty good driving scenes in that movie, but it wasn't designed to be a car movie, just a robbery movie with great car scenes!!!!
Probably one of the best examples of how to roll the cars into the story without going overboard!!
Rob
P.S. Only problem with that movie is they Destroy a Laborghini Miura at the beginning of it!!

Yeah, that's the one! That was bugging me. I hate that "tip of the tongue" phenomenon thing.

Love Lap of the Gods...
And nope, I don't think you've hit the movie I'm thinking of. It's relatively new (mid/late 80's?), and I thought Tom Cruise was in it, but I checked IMDB, and it wasn't there, so I must be thinking of someone else. Now I've got 'tip of the tongue-itis'...thanks Preet.

Was it perhaps starring Charlie Sheen? I think he was in a movie with him basically driving a BMW the whole movie. The Chase? I'm not sure on the title.

Right actor, wrong movie, but you got me on the right track...
I'm sure that is the movie I'm thinking of...

Okay, finally saw the movie, I can see why many of you were disappointed. Not enough car race scenes or sexy girls to make up for the poor writing and okay acting. Oh and the floor dropping out of the car was a bit silly. Of course, being a chick, I did enjoy the race between the chick and the guy trying to pick her up.
A life? Sounds cool!! Where can I download one of those?
