Looking around for a place to build my replacement D15.  The one in there now is original 1985 and it's got probably 300k+ on it.  It's a champ but I suspect it could blow at any time, but it's been a racing engine for all but the first 6 months after purchase.

I seem to remember King being mentioned here a few times and I found a few threads in the search.  Looks like they know how to build this particular engine.

I know a later model swap would be cheaper and easier but it would throw me into an uncompetitive class (probably Street Modified if not Prepared).

They are pretty much the best.  I haven't had anything done by them myself, but I've talked to people who have, and I've heard nothing but superb reviews.  I talked to an owner of one of the few 2G Mugen tube-chassis King Motorsport built race cars.  I also got to see it in person... Amazing stuff.  I'm actually from the northern midwest, and they are very well known in that area.  They have dyno days pretty regularly.  I've also contacted them for information for my 1G blog, and they were great to work with.  You should check their racing history.  It's quite impressive.  I highly recommend them.  Just my two cents.

Actually, I believe Buford owns one of their 2G tube-chassis CRXs.  You should have a chat with him.

Road & Track magazine: "When they get around to listing the top good-time inventions of the late 20th century, we're willing to bet that right up there with the hang gliders, ultra lights, sailboards and jet skis you'll find the Honda Civic CRX. And we're willing to bet that the CRX won't be at the bottom of the short list--particularly if the CRX in question is an Si."

The cost seems reasonable - $3000 for a long block + parts.  I would probably spend close to that doing it myself and probably not have as good a result.
