so no im confused.... last time i asked about a no start in my crx and i was told it was the ignition switch. well im getting air, spark, and gas and i have a new ignition switch in there. its got new distributer and button, new spark plugs and wires, i put a new fuel pump in and i know the hoses are not clogged. i have also cleaned the fuel injectors too. i can turn the key and you can hear the motor cranking and it wont start up. i did also do the timeing and got a new timing belt and tensioner, and that is now correct. will some one please help me out. give me the best or worst feedback and see what i can do to use it. i would really love to get this car up and running but im stumped as to why it wont start and just crank.

no i have not. i really didnt think that would cause the car to no start. before it was running fine with the o2 sensor code thrown... what happened was i had it running like a month ago. and it was running fine, then i turned it off and then i turned it off like normal and when i went out to turn it on the next day it started up but it sounded like it was running on two cylnders and i was like wtf. i turned it off and then tried to turn it back on and nothing, just cranking and cranking. so i did all those test and checked everything out. our main thought was the timing, because it had a bad belt on it and so i changed it and put it back into time. and still nothing so thats why im so confused on whats up. do you know of some other things like maybe a paticular vaccum line or a gasket or something that would do that????

I think I asked this on the original post, but where/how exactly are you taking the spark confirmation from? Same for the fuel? Where you able to try Scott's ignitor issue yet?

scotts ignitor issue???? i pull the spark plug out and set it next to the block and watch it spark and as far as fuel ive pulled the fuel rail off and had gas dump out in my hand and plus i have put the injectors in carb cleaner and let them soak for a day or two so i imagine that there clean. as far as that goes i know they work. plus i had put a new ignition switch in, and its brand new.

i might have gotton confused w/ another post this past week thinking it was yours (Ignitor). Scott posted that he had a similiar issue w/o starting and had fuel/spark. He replaced his ignitor and it worked for his no start issue.

Just asked on how you took spark and fuel check to see how you were doing it. I do spark the same way. For fuel, if you cleaned the injectors, you know they aren't plugged.

something to check on spark is to check for spark on each plug. Odd that its running and now not. BUt that might help to ID the ignitor.

This one doesn't make sence b/c you said the car was running before, but I'll ask since you mentioned running on 2 cylinders. But when My cars sat on old gas for 4years, the injectors clogged. The guys told me to remove and turn upside down, use a balpoint pen and press down on the little "tit". All of mine were stuck and w/ a little pressure, they all popped and were free to move. I used a 50/50 mix of fuel/injector cleaner and pushed the tit while holding the injector upside down and the mix would drain backwards through the injector. Did this to the 3 cars I had sitting and all fired right up. But I think my situation was different. So curious if you "popped the tit" on each injector when you soaked them?

Other thing. you can hotwire the fuel pump (will run nonstop) via the main relay wire harness connector per the OEM shop manual instructions. I hotwired mine and removed the return fuel line at the fuel rail. That told me I had fuel at the injectors and no blockage in the distribution system. There's a pressure regulator on the fuel rail that sends the excess fuel not used by the injectors back to the tank. the manual will have this, but I think it 35 plus PSI ???? So I felt if fuel wsa going back to the return line, then there was adequate pressure for the injectors to operate properly (unless the regulator is bad - another story). So that's how I confirm I've got fuel to the injectors. Then I'd pull a plug and look/smell the gas on the plugs to know if its getting into the cylinder. Sounds like you removed pump/injectors and a lot of stuff. BUt this is how I check the system as a whole.

Q for you? Are you getting fuel inside each cylinder after cranking for a while??? THat'll confirm "quick wet thumb check" that your fuel system appears proper.

My spark/fuel issues have all gone by the book. So this one is scratching my head. BUt I'm sure someone out there has had other weird things happen and can give their inputs.
