Hi guys. Been reading for a while now. Love the forum, the cars and all the useful info. Decide to make a profile and share what I've been up to.
Bought it for what it will cost as scrape metal, not running (dead clutch), missing front bumper , smokey engine, dead battery and all taxes expired. Always wanted 3G civic after Gran Turismo  came out many years ago , and my favorite car being the motul civic there. Love the idea of simple , light weight , high revving N/A engine.
Car itself is a 87 1.5 carb ew2 86hp only option was power steering, considering edm cars rarely have any option from that era. Car being imported from Germany and here as well is snowy/salty in winters- rust has taking its toll.
Idea is to have something to do in my spare time. And despite working 2 full time jobs, we don't make much here and all of the work is low/ghetto style and on tight budged.

re-index front torsion bars (not sure if i can call it this way, not a native in english)
rear springs were chopped and top mounts for the shocks where extended with the height being removed from the springs. Rear shocks were good , gotta keep it in budged. For front shocks I modified shocks from VW T4 bus, cheap and heavy duty solution. Will let you know how does it work.

took the engine a part, after inspect and measure it, it looked like its been rebuild recently. The head itself was garbage and it was replaced with rebuild ew3 one. 037679818-big.jpg?r=0

Like i said it wasn't meant to be a pro job, but only what i could afford. All its been done by myself.
Still a lot do. Gotta loose the carb, its leaky and ineffective looking for a ew3 swap or maybe some Dual head , tidy up the interior, renew the suspension components, bearing , bushings etc.

Soon to be updated

Wow! Great stuff.  Most people would've sent that car to the scrap heap.  Glad you decided to save it!

And we're willing to bet that the CRX won't be at the bottom of the short list--particularly if the CRX in question is an Si."

Great rebuild story - it is nice to see another hatch live another day.  How long did all of this take you?
