So im trying to figure out cheap ways to make more power with the civic. IM thinking about making a custom exhaust for it using the stock exhaust manifold. The hardest part will be making the 4 bolt flange that would attach to the manifold where the cat used to be.
Does anyone make that flange or possibly a downpipe? If not, Ill probably have to get the flange made and then have some piping welded up.
I guess the other option is to find a tubular header to bolt up. Can those be found cheaply or from another honda? The engine is a D15A2.

So I found these headers on summits website:
HED-37010
Honda: 1984-87 1.5L CRX/Civic Si, 1 1/2 in. primary tubes, 2 in. collector, Chikara
$119.95
HED-37014
Honda: 1984-87 1.5L CRX/Civic Si, 1 3/8 in. to 1 5/8 in. primary tubes, 2 in. collector, with Y-pipe and equal...
$189.95
Has anyone purchased Hedman Hedders before? Whats your experience? According to Hedmans website the headers are designed for the CRX which means to get them to work on my civic I will need a CRX oil pan? Or is that only the case for the stock CRX manifold? Or am I completely wrong and neither header will bolt up to my engine?

The header will work, but not sure about the oil pan. I THINK it will work, because I had a Chikara/Hedman in my Civic, and although it had a CRX motor, I don't think it had an SI pan.

ok, so assuming that the oil pan isnt an issue, will the header bolt up to the stock exhaust piping? im trying to figure out how I will get a local shop to weld up an exhaust even though i wont have a cat. They are pretty rigid with their rules.
