After making another trans mount and engine mount bushing for a customer, I really started to think whether or not it would be viable to make some full CNC mounts from 6061 aluminum.

Fits:1984-1987 Honda Civic
 + cr-x &1986-1989 Integra
EW engines, and D16a1/ZC

Each mount will be available in shore 60a (medium hard) - 80a (hard) - 84D (XXX hard). I personally run 80a and see few vibrations. The first one that will be for sale will be the trans mount with the others to follow shortly after.

And here is the CAD render for the aluminum one :D

Not sure if I'd like the 2 extra holes in this, I could do without that cause I not all about weight savings, more about strength and durability. For those of you that don't know I'll lay out the gift that Chedda has bestowed on RPR member's once again. With this mount and his other mount you now have a very high grade engine mount set that you could use to do a D16A1 (US ZC) - a familiar swap on this site. Also an 88-91 or 92-95 JDM DOHC ZC, SOHC ZC, D15B Vtec, D15Z1, D16Z6, D16Y8 or vitually any 88-00 D series in combination with the 86-89 Integra transmission. Once again, nice product Chedda! It'd be cool if you could etch Chedda on it like Hasport does on their mounts :D

I have to replace my mounts, they are shot.

What price range are you talking about? I am very interested in a set of 60a's

Thanks,

Joseph

Hey thanks for the replies. The trans mount will likely only have inset holes, that way it still retains all of its strength, plus gives it a nice look. Here is a "final" copy. Yes a engraved logo would be sick. I agree.

I am going to start with the trans mount first then work my way over to the engine mount and rear trans mount. They will all be right around $150 a piece shipped, including your choice of Bushing Duro. Thank you or looking!

Plus here is the render for the engine side! :P

More playing around with design. Here is a solid rear mount, a two piece design. One mount, the bushing housing, will bolt to the triangular style bracket off of the transmission, and the second mount will bolt to the subframe.

Wonder if it's possible to offset the spool so the load on the rear trans mount is more toward the passenger's side shock mount? Right now the 88-91 D series tranny is off the table because of the way the mount is, it's not centered between the engine and trans like the 92-95 or the 96-00 rear trans mount, it's actually more centered over the differential. It would be nice to have other options for cable tranny's besides the CG trans, like the 88-91 JDM ZC DOHC trans, however, sales on something like that would probably be minimal. :( Maybe I could integrate a mount right into the cross member since it is a bolt on piece? Ideas, Ideas, but no time.........

For high HP or race use a shore 80 to shore 90.

I totally agree Buford. 60 is enough for street, I use 80a, but I am pretty hardcore :)
