It means ...why are you reading the instructions..
That is probably just a universal stupid disclaimer they put on all their instructions and it does not pertain to you. You should have posted this in the thread below as it has some added information on CARB'd applications.

It means that it will not fit our style engines that have a cat bolted directly to the exhaust manifold (1500, 1.5, Dx, Hf... everything NON-Si). However, there is a solition to this problem. You actualy have two choices:
1) Modify your current oil pan to clear the headers larger diameter pipe(s)
2) Scrounge up an Si oil pan and oil pick-up
Also, do you have atleast a 2" exhaust pipe rather than the "pea shooter" stock exhaust pipe?

Well, it depends on how strick GA. is on inspections. By federal law, all cars built after 1977(???) are required to have a catalytic converted according to the Clean Air Act. However, some states do not have smog/emission standards and just preform a "saftey" inspection of the vehicle.

Bringing this topic from the dead with a question.
I'm considering changing my rusted out stock exhaust system.
I'm just concerned about the piping size I should use. I'm running an EW (not carb). Would the 2" exhaust pipe that recommends RFL85CRXSI be good ? I'd like to be as close as possible to the perfect size for the engine.

answer- yes
anything bigger is not necessary on an NA 1.5L engine. just loud and obnoxious. here is more info

thx kaymo. I wasn't really thinking of getting bigger, but I'm also afraid of choosing too small. I'm looking for a good compromise here. At least it'll be bigger than OEM ^^

Yea that's something to consider when you get a hedder, the stock dx exhaust will fit (sortof) but I had some issues and it leaks where it connects to the catback. I'm guessing if I had an si exhaust this wouldn't be the case though lol.
