#519476 Hedman Hedder

Posted by F22hb on 19 April 2011 - 03:35 AM in 1G CRX

Yea that's something to consider when you get a hedder, the stock dx exhaust will fit (sortof) but I had some issues and it leaks where it connects to the catback. I'm guessing if I had an si exhaust this wouldn't be the case though lol.

#519475 Ebay Find: Jdm Sidemarkers $26.00

Posted by F22hb on 19 April 2011 - 03:29 AM in General Posts

I got a set off ebay about a month ago for 17 shipped from the UK. As the market gets saturated, the value comes down. I was surprised when I was the only one that bid on them hahaha.

#519472 Engine Oil ?

Posted by F22hb on 19 April 2011 - 03:22 AM in General Posts

1) Vehicle (3rd gen Civic)
2) Engine & Mileage (1.5 with weber, 170k)
3) Oil Brand (Brad Penn)
4) Weight (10w-40)
5) WHY ?

Brad Penn is from the same refinery that Kendal used to come from. It's the green oil that has high levels of zinc and other minerals that are great for bearings. Should definitely google it and check it out. It's not synthetic but costs the same. We use it in our racecars and it's all we trust for that.

I've had a weber on my gf's civic for about 3 or 4 months now and never have experienced this. lol maybe it can't pull enough g's.

#503201 New Suspension Kit In The Works...

Posted by F22hb on 07 October 2010 - 08:42 AM in General Posts

Can they just make a short body shock for the fronts. That's what this group really needs so more people can be low like newer cars without having to reinvent the wheel.

#502327 Testing Waters For A 86-87 Si Front Lip In Cf Or Fg

Posted by F22hb on 28 September 2010 - 03:35 PM in General Posts

I guess I must be missing the point. If you want an oem lip, a visit to the junkyard should turn up one. Also, that one won't shatter on curbs and such like fg. It would be really cool if you guys made a clean looking aftermarket front lip. All the newer generations have them but we don't and I feel like they would sell very well, especially if they were pu instead of fg or abs. Just saying... what's the fuss over stock front lips?

#501875 :( Broken Lower Control Arm

Oem lca or an aftermarket replacement. Was it the balljoint that failed or the arm?

#501782 Few Quick Questions

Posted by F22hb on 23 September 2010 - 11:51 AM in 1G CRX

Brad Penn is good oil for this job it is conventional and has lots of the good minerals. It used to be Kendal, it's the green oil. Costs as much as synthetic but I like it much more.

HG could have blown out between two cylinders, this will produce some symptoms similar to yours, doesn't happen often though.

#499736 Do You Have The Right?

Posted by F22hb on 03 September 2010 - 02:21 PM in Off-Topic

Give them food. We gave a homeless person a bag of cereal when we were moving, the kind that are individually boxed, and he seemed kindof interested. When we drove back by about half an hour later he was gone and the bag was just sitting there with all the cereal still in it. 90% just want money to buy drugs. You want to feel sorry for them, but don't. Offering them a job is a good one lol, they don't want to work.

#499560 Honda Tech/cb7/red Pep Meet?

Posted by F22hb on 01 September 2010 - 05:11 PM in Meets

QUOTE (Lymitliss @ Sep 1 2010, 12:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I know this is late notice, but my friend from CB7Tuner informed me of a CB7 meet that is happening at Marymoor Park in Redmond this saturday at 1 o clock, and it just so happens Honda Tech is having a meet there at the same time.

I'd also like to see some RedPepper cars in the crowd!

I don't expect anyone from here to go on such late notice, but if you can make it out I'd love to see you guys there! I'll be there simply to get some cool pictures and maybe get some ideas for my build. Between the two sites there should be plenty of cars for everyone to find something they like, here is the link if you are interested-

Honda Tech Meet

FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU! I wish the girlfriend and I could go to this D:

#499535 Anybody Ever Run 175/50-13's?

Posted by F22hb on 01 September 2010 - 12:18 PM in General Posts

We're running 155/80/13r's right now. Got them brand new from discount for 200 mounted and balanced so you can't complain. Work fine for a DD and probably help mileage.

#497711 Insight Rear Drums?

I love that pullapart. More than likely we'll be there.

#495345 Center Console

Posted by F22hb on 05 July 2010 - 02:11 PM in Appearance

I don't think it is integra, it was just laying in the civic but the matching ebrake cover was still screwed in. Maybe the non-si's have a different setup?

Looks like I'm going to just have to find the part from the picture on the right instead of the one on the left. Looks like it has bigger storage anyways lol.

#495244 Center Console

Posted by F22hb on 03 July 2010 - 07:12 PM in Appearance

Got this from the jy from a 3g Si (pretty sure) and figured it would fit in the gf's hatch. It all pretty much lined up except where it meets the dash. So.. which console do I need, she really wants to fill in the empty space.

#495120 Shocks

Posted by F22hb on 01 July 2010 - 02:24 PM in 3G Civic

QUOTE (Arctix-86si @ Jul 1 2010, 09:17 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
i want to keep my 86 si lowered could i get oe shocks or should i get higher performance shocks?? since i think i read some where the if i put oe shocks the will go out faster if i keep it lowered.

I'm only speaking from the experience I've had, but I would suggest buying a set of KYB GR-2's. Then shaving the brake bracket off to gain 3/4" more travel on the front. They're great replacement shocks and are VERY inexpensive. They've worked fine on my gf's lowered 3g so far and compared to blown oem shocks, the car no longer makes a loud bang as the front shocks bottom out as a combination of the added travel and stronger compression of the new shocks. There are other options available, but my vote is for the gr2's.

#494737 Hf Backing Plates

Going to the pullapart soon and doubt they'll have any hf's. lmk how much with shipping to 98225.

#494524 New To Rpr 1986 Hf

Posted by F22hb on 24 June 2010 - 08:41 AM in General Posts

Stock t-bars adjusted down in the front and spring compressed in the rear. KYB GR-2's all around. It used to bottom out terribly before we replaced the oem's with kyb, now it rides very nice. It's not 'that' low but I feel like the stance is just right for a 1g/3g.

Price on side/fender markers?

#494308 1987 Crx Hf

I want an Hf so bad as a commuter car/dd. If you need aluminum drums check out rockauto, they're only 30 bucks a peice.

Damn, tough break man. Seems like sometimes it takes all this bs to get the car all worked out and into a well oiled machine.
