First of all let me start off by saying, this wasn't something that was easy. There was plenty of steps to making the paint stick to the bumpers properly, using adhesion promoters ect.

Heres what the car looked like at the beginning. Sorry for the old photos, they are not good ones.

You can see that they were very bad shape, the rear one was painted and chipped, and the front one had a hole in it. So I used chemical stripper to remove the old paint, then I cleaned the entire surface with a wire brush to get off ALL of the old paint. Right down to the bare plastic.

Now that we got it down to bare plastic, I hit it with 100 and 180 grit sand paper for prepping. Feathering out all as much I can, removing all the sharp edges. The larger scratches were filled with flexible bondo, the hole was filled with seam seal. Once it was sanded out again, Koncept Industries threw on some adhesion promoter, and 6 layers of thick primer.

Once the primer was on, they spent a bunch of time hitting it with the orbital sander, plus scuffing it with 400 and hand sanding it to get it all perfect. Then the used a sealer to help with longevity, plus making a good surface area for new paint.

Once this was all done, they put on a few layers of Rio Red. A very vibrant red might I add. They also threw on a bunch of clear :D

And here they are installed and back on the car. I am very excited and very happy. Oh and I used VHT to tint all the lights.

The lower lip was rhinolined, for durability and screwed on using self tappers. Turned out great.

Not sure I would have gone quite so dark on the lights, but it does look good.  I keep looking at my metallic gray and thinking a light smoke might look really nice.

Thanks everyone. The lights are brighter than what they look like in the photo, it was a low light photo. I think I like em this way. There are so many sets of tinted lights rolling around they all just look stock. Now for some LED bulbs to make sure they retain bright at night. The tail lights are going to get some clear too, I want them shinier.

Red has got to be the hardest color to match. Looks like a fantastic job!

What is VHT?

We used a chemical stripper designed for removing powdercoat and paint. Its called b17 I believe. Best case situation you dip the entire thing then just wipe it off. My situation, paint it on, let it sit, then brush it off. Very dangerous stuff.

Thanks for the compliments. I was really happy with the final product.

Vht is just a paint company that does speciality paints like wrinkle, tint, flameproof stuff.
