Whats going on everyone? Upon request, here is my build thread.

I have been in the Honda scene since 2006 when I bought this 86 1500DX off of former member JDMJEFF. I owned this hatch and drove it daily for about 6yrs.

I was able to pick it up cheap due to it not running. Prior to picking it up, Jeff and a couple of other techs at the dealership replaced the carb 3x, plugs twice, timing belt and a few other odds and ends. It fought me for awhile before I figured out it was a weak coil. The only mods I did were, I installed the SE side skirts I picked up from lilbuddy, did the devac, and installed the full Integra brake setup. Over the yrs, rust and age got the better of the old girl. After the motor finally let go I parked her.

Here is the final pic I have. It was a sad day. Sorry for the bad cell pic.

Not long after picking up my first hatch. I was able to pick up an 86 Si for super cheap. After getting it home and getting it to run pretty well. I realized that the chassis was twisted. The left front corner was down about an inch. I traded it off to a friend that raced it for a while before I got rid of it. This is the only pic I have of it.

Here is my current project car. I picked it up from member bigboi. It was an 86 1300cc car with full vinyl interior.

Earlier this year I picked up this mess, another 86 Si with a ZC on the side. It was wrecked and full of rust.

Here is the last pick I have of this Si

So on to my build. First step tear down. The car had very little to no rust, no patches required. Everyone has seen these cars torn down more than once, so I'm going to spare you.

Here is the interior as of right now. I desided to go with Lizard Skin sound control just to try the product out. I liked the idea of the product due to the ability to spary into all of the nook and crannies that a mat could not get into.

Here are a few parts I picked up.

I don't have pics of every new part but here is a quick list of my new parts.
New Bilstiens,
 Tie Rods,
 Springs,(2.5, 350lbs)
 T-Bars(27.5)
 Bushings,
 Control Arms w/ball joints,
 16x7 wheel and tires.

As you can see I'm going back with the factory B26M. I'm going to have A/C and bluetooth with a nice stereo system. I'm currently mocking up cruise to original mounting holes in the the chassis and getting it to work with the windshield washer bottle.

First of all thank you for ordering your parts.
Second, this project/restoration is coming along nicely.
Third, need moarrrr. Love the interior work and the painting. Can't wait to see it on the road.

There are some details about this in some other topics. I would like to know what the overall size of the brake disc, just for reference so I can compare to the Integra one if I ever want to go this route. And did you use the Proportioning valve?

eec4tuner:

The twin pots bolt right inplace of the Integra calipers. No mods require to install the calipers.

chedda_j

These calipers will require the Integra rotors. I will be running the 11in VW Corrado rotors on mine with the Fast Brake Kit. They also require a 15/16 master cylinder. I will be running a 90 Civic booster with a 90 Prelude Si MC and an 87 Civic Sedan booster spacer. Everything bolts up with no mods and the brake lines, line up with no problem. I will be using the Integra PV.

I will post pics once the rest of my parts arrive.

Here is alittle more progress today.

Here I did the firewall mods to accept the Si EFI components.photo_zps517bf3ca.jpg

I removed the three brackets from the Si, cleaned them up and colored matched them to the car. I drilled all the holes and sealed the exposed metal and the added silicon to the rivets to ensure everything is sealed. I also added the third fuel line hole too.

I also pulled the front suspension and stripped it down to just the main cradle.

Thanks. I'm going to shoot the undercoat over the next couple of days. Also going to clean up, paint, reassemble, and re-install the front suspension.

Started cleaning up the underside of the car. I found a little bit more rust, so I have been getting that cleaned up.

But here is some pics of my twin pot rebuild.

photo_zps299a4712.jpg

I found a bad seal, so now I have to locate a rebuild kit.

photo_zpsa44bdf63.jpg

After doing some research, here is what I can up with.

These calipers have 40mm pistons. I have 3 options for new parts.

First one is to order a repair kit from Japan with the correct VIN, which I couldn't get.

Second was to order the repair kit for the NXS for $200+

Third was to try the 99-04 Mustang Cobra repair kit for $15.

Here is the calipers being torn apart.

Put together. Ready for clean up and paint.

I chose to go with Cast Aluminum caliper paint.
