They arrived yesterday
What I'm going to do is relay as much info as I can.

here are pics with measurements in my gallery

http://www.redpepper...allade/ITRKoni/

What they are: Although they started life as an ITR "Race" strut they now are revalved into a sports (our cars are a lot lighter then ITR's) and had their upper rod modified to work with our cars. So don't go out and buy any ITR struts and expect them to work

Differences : due to the thicker rod the upper strut bushing washers/dust cover can not be used unless you drill the holes out bigger. Koni did provide proper washers.

: The lower perch to bottom mounting bolt distance is longer on the ITR Koni set up by one inch. to achieve the same ride hight as before you must use a spring one inch shorter of the same weight.
I'm using the coil over setup provided by koni with a short 5 inch spring to take care of this issue.
Another option would be to create another ser clip groove one inch lower on the housing to bring it back to Civic|crx specs. One day maybe.

: Compared to to a Tokico Blues the koni's are approx. one inch shorter in over all length in the shock body, but two inches shorter from the lower perch to the top of the tube (shock body) this is because of where the lower perch is located on the shock body.

:Installation was simple just like before. and with a 450 spring they should be what I'm looking for.

I would also like to thank the guys at koni North America for helping me with this project, Even with the old Koni reds which are long gone and no longer can be serviced, they still provided me with a current option, with great support and customer service.

any other question just ask.
Cheers

MAN-O-Man THOSE are a thing of pure beauty.....now post some "installed" pics so we can check out the ride height already!!!!!!!!!LOL Meh You just got them yesterday...We'll install them when I get back home! And FULL adjustability, Spring height and dampening!

Koni appears to have a new logo....Congrats to Koni for having the ability to litterally BUILD/engineer exactly what the customer want's/needs/requires for their particular use and setup/car!

Man that IS going to be ONE WICKED TIIITE ride this Summer!

So is it possible to use the ITR Race or ITR Shock without modifications to the shock?

The problem is the shaft diameter where it pass's thorough the body?

a metal stopper needs to be welded onto the rod just before the threaded portion. It's what the dust cover sits on.
I'm also thinking the spacing between the stopper and the threads needs to be Civic CRX specific. The shock tower on our cars differs from a Type R. The diameter of the rod is not the issue.

WOW way to bring back the dead! lol

I had to reply though because I was wondering about something Ballade said about the Koni Red's. Last time I called Koni they said they would and could rebuild my reds. This was about 3 or 4 months ago.

Maybe something has changed since 2008? lol

I sent them down koni red rears and due to the lack of parts they just made me some custom ITR units at no extra charge.
I don't remember the cost but I didn't complain.

You should also look into rear RSX Koni's. They are about 2 inches shorter then the ITR ones.

Do you by any chance have measurements of the stock lower bushing for the rear shocks. like the width of the bushing or the bolt diameter.

What does a rebuild typically cost from KONI?

The Rule of Money. Any Money spent on a car project will require a Square Root amount more Money spent to make the original Money's investment worthwhile.
