would you loss power on a black top if you were to use the brown top dizzy?

apart from the black top being electronic advance and the brown top vacuum advance, you would need to be sure the ignition advance curves were the same. I have not got access to those curves at the moment, but the afctory workshop manuals generally have them.
Can't see much point it going back to vacuum advance myself - you can modify the electronic advance curves via chips etc which gives you more tuning options.
