i found out something interesting about my engine the other day, could be good, probably bad. i saw crxdan at the crx meetup, and he pointed out to me that i had a different head on my car than what it was supposed supposed to have on it... the car i got all my parts from, was an 88 acura intergra 2dr., so it is and was supposed to be a black top engine, i'm sure the block is, but the head is different.
so the almighty question is, how do i find out what head it is and where is the info located on the head? all i did was drop the engine in and it ran, haven't really done much else to it yet. so i'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's a zc head on a blacktop block, but with my luck it probly ain't so...
thanks for any info biggrin.gif

Well.......on a 2g ZC, the valve cover bolt pattern is different. The bolts are on th outside, where as the D16A1 are on the inside.

See, this is a Black Top ZC head here.......

I have another picture in my gallery, go to it and go under the "day of purchase" gallery ph34r.gif

2g ZC head has the vaccum or electronic advance distributer?

Going to Hawaii? You need a Dune Buggy.

WTB: 14x8 or 9" Panasports or Watanabe RS.

WTB: 3g Civic hatch gauge cowl, brown.

He wants to know if its a 1g JDM ZC head or a 86-87 D16a1 Head. Is there any way to distinguish the two without ripping the thing apart?
