Hey rpr I own a 1987 civic si d15a3
I'm looking to do a motor swap that will just be a plug n play wit not having to deal wit axle n motor mounts aftermarketed..I kno that the d16a1 is one that will plug n play...uhm I'm also wondering if a b20 from the 87 prelude will be a plug n play...
And as for my d15a3 I want to build it but sitting at 202,xxx already I'm not sure if its still worth a build up...n also just throw on sym ideas out there for me that I can probably try on ..thanks..

Pretty much anything you drop in there you will have to get aftermarket axles with the exception of doing the D16 Swap you can use the Integra axles. I have heard bad stuff from the Prelude B20 according to some people its the worst B- series engine.

I have personally never owned a prelude but I think personally you would be better off with a B series from an Integra. If you are on a budget the D16 is the way to go.

Bad about B20 in the 87 prelude:
-makes less HP than a B16
-weighs more than a B18
-sits at a tilt in the prelude and has different mounts (read: custom work) than other b series due to that
-many parts not compatible with other b series engines

Good:
closed deck and thick sleeves = stout design for adding boost (if you can figure out how)

The vacuum advance D16A1 and its international counterparts (vac advance DOHC ZC) are the only plug and play engine upgrades that exist for our cars. But even these require that you use the axles and hubs from the donor vehicle (or a usdm G1 integra)
