where were you this morning Ed? you're going to have to take me out for a run some time as well smile.gif

I was there at 11 am as usual for a Sat. I didn't get it all done till around 3 pm though. Are you home tomorrow Andrew? I'll swing by and take you for a boot- maybe try the G-Tech on it too?

Ok, I will have to get working on my carb hat and finish off mounting the turbo to the manifold. I am getting another engine with an almost new carb that won't have any throttle shaft leaks. Thanks for the write-up. I also am going to try and add another riser plate underneath the carb since some domestics with carbs do that to raise velocity??

Eldo,
I don't understand what you mean above. If the timing is locked how does keeping the vac advance help cool the motor?

Great write up BTW. This thing must really be impressive! tongue.gif

Thats a sweet set up eldo , but i was wondering if it would be possible to do a set up similar to yours on a weber 32/36 carb

Thanks : Cody

Took cvcc_wagon and his G-tech for a drive in the rain( wet road and sprinkling with wipers on). Best run with the least amount of wheel spin (got it to hook in 4th before maximum boost came on) was a 15.32 @ 100.5 mph! Maybe someone has the formula to calculate mph verses e.t. accounting for wheel spin to get a close approximate for e.t. with optimum traction?

The Webber 32/36 would be easier as it has been done already with a lot less mods required. A local older guy who grew up in Asia has a 32/36 on his datsun 1600 with a T-25 making 310 h.p.

Cruising at highway speeds with less timing (Like 28 degrees will run hotter then with the vacuum advance pulling in an extra 15 degrees) My locked timing setup allows for the vacuum advance rod to pull in the extra advance.( Only the advance weights are welded to the advance plate leaving the advance plate free to rotate when the vacuum advance rod pulls on it.)
It is stupid fun when you hit 6500 rpms and the 13 pounds of boost hits! If G-tech reads 100.5 mph while slipping in the wet to run a 15.32, it should e.t. pretty good in the dry.

Brent , i think the riser plate will hurt more then gain on a 4 cylinder.(I had to take out a 1"plate under the Holley because it actually slowed the velocity down to the point where it would bog). You could also have hood clearance problems- Even if i removed my 1/2" nitrous plate, the carb hat will not fit under a hood without the bulge i worked into it. Try it though because the stock carb might be able to use it.

I will not hit the nitrous until after i get some track time and numbers (Dan, you must know what a bitch it is to back pedal under boost! Or do you just give her?!!!)

I wonder myself but so far it has taken a couple of 100 shot hits and now it has survived 3 hours from yesterday and 5 hours today with me pounding on it. Compression and oil pressure is still the same- probably because it's on the rich side .I will need it to live for one good run down the track while spraying and then the built EW block will go in with the Z6 head.

What did you do for the coolant line to the turbo? All my hoses are too big to try and adapt to the turbo.
