Hello all, I have a 1984 CRX with an EW1 motor on which I have just installed a weber 32/36 dgev. Now that my carb doesn't have coolant flowing through it, can I just delete the coolant flow to the manifold, or does it serve some other purpose I don't know about? Thanks!

The coolant flow through the bottom of the carb/throttle body is to prevent carb freezing. In situations of extreme cold it is possible for the throttle plate to freeze open if there is not a flow of warm coolant.
I have eliminated the coolant flow through the bottom of my throttle body with no ill effects. BUT!!! I live in California and never drive my car in extremely cold conditions.

Scott is right, it also helps the intake air heat up in cold climates, but it hot climates, this only creates heat soak, a bad thing.

Similar provision in the fuel injected throttle bodies, which can also be deleted in warmer climes.
