I assume you mean an 88+ engine? If so, it can be done, but it's not easy, and pretty much everything is custom. We've done it, but we wouldn't do it again, unless you want to drop the car off with a big bag of cash in it... smile.gif

I hate doing what's trendy and what everyone else is doing, but a D16 swap is SOOO easy. Look in to that.
I have nothing...

Well, a dohc D16A1 swap is easy. A sohc D16anything-else is NOT! Let's be a little more specific people so we don't misinform a newby.

well i have something to add to this discussion.... It's true guy anything swapping but dohc d-series from what i have heard and been told is a pain in the ass. I have been fighting putting a b16 in mine and no don't consider it unless you have a load of cash... I thought oh i will be able to do it cheaper than everyone else is saying but nope. When my car has paint on it i will have about 6500 into my car if not more, laugh.gif laugh.gif but it would be cool the guy that is doing all the fun wiring on my car is suppose to do a vtec d-series single over head cam. I don't think he knows what he is in for and i am not going to tell him because he has been taking for EVER!!!! but go all out when you decide. smile.gif

I'm doing a d15b7 swap now and progress is very slow. As for prices I got most everything from a 93 delsol for $400. Making mounts myself, rewiring everything myself. Trying to stay under $1000 only spent $500 so far. Basically I guess what I'm saying is yes it can be done if you enjoy working on your car alot and I mean alot, and are willing to take them time to do it rite and don't exspect it to be just a 2 or 3 day job. I've been working on mine almost every weekend for going on 4 months now and I'm not even close to being half way finished.

And of the dohc d-series, it is only the D16A1 and the EARLY dohc ZC (the one with engine/tranny mounts like the D16A1) that will fit easily. If you get a later dohc ZC for the 88+ Civics, it's just as much of a pain as all the other 88+ d-series. Like I said, BE SPECIFIC! Don't waste several hundred dollars of someone elses money.

86sib16a and RTM: it's a tough road, but totally worth it! My car is transformed now, with 120hp and an LSD it's a totally different beast. When you drive it for the first time you WILL be smiling!
