I think a club needs to be started for people who hate the rear brakes on our cars.
I think the club is called the I swapped to Integra brakes club.

small update with couple pics
Progress:
Installed new thermostat and ordered rad fan switch. Put air filter box back on and I came up with a great idea of what I'm going to do to replace it but I'm not giving details until it comes through.
Now for the pics. Here's the engine bay. Nothing fancy but I LOVE how simplistic it is.
Oh, here's the brake line I was talking about. After looking over things, which you can see here as well, I went on a "spray everything but the brake pads with pb blaster" spree. So it's quite possible that the line is not leaking. I'm going to keep an eye on it. Will bleed brakes tomorrow.
Here's a shot I thought was kinda cool and would be even more so in the daylight.
Another one that I had to modify cause it was nearly pitch black outside but...
Last but not least, Daddys little helper.

Here's the hatchie update. The break line broke. Where it looks seperated in the above picture it split apart completely when bleeding the brakes. So, I replaced that line, replaced the thermosensor for the cooling fan, refilled the radiator with coolant, and thought I should be ready to go. Started the car and the cooling fan won't come on because of corrosion in the connector. No problem, easy fix but in my desperation to make sure it wasn't going to overheat I temporarily hard wired the fan to stay on at all times.
I'm at the conclusion that the water pump is indeed bad The car is overheating. I removed the thermostat completely then removed the hose to the heater core. The coolant trickled once it got "hot". Then I put that hose back and removed the one coming out of the heater core at the thermostat housing end. Coolant again just trickled out. This tells me the problem does not lie within the heater core but most likely the pump. Guessing since it was dry and sat for so long, the fins probably corroded and I'm getting minimal pumpage now. Anyway, because we are out of project fundings, I'm very close to removing the tranny from the hatchie and putting it in the CRX so I can at least get one going and possibly gone to then replenish fundings.
Unless someone has another idea, could it be the radiator? I thought that I had the rad fairly cleaned out when pressurized it with water but I could be wrong. This sucks!

And then there was one
Drove the hatchie 20 miles without overheating. Bought the water pump but something wasn't sitting right with me so I tore the front apart on the CRX and swapped radiators between the cars. After refilling the radiator with antifreeze, I started the car and let it idle for 20 minutes. Temp only went half way up. Yay! Drove the car around town for a few miles without problems but it seemed like the temp gauge would fluctuate. Not sure what that's all about but after feeling comfortable with it I took it to the highway. 4 miles on the highway with my dad following behind and it went great. He said that not once did he see any kind of smoke and it held 75mph without any trouble. The CRX now is sitting in the garage with the front bumper off, all the air conditioning lines removed and just looking funny in general but it's gonna sit for now until a transmission is found. Tomorrow my dad will follow me home in the hatchie.

i would saytha you have air in the lines for the coolent making it flux. easy fix, when its not supper hot but has ran till the fan kicks on. then turn off and flex the top hose and if your getting bubbles you have air jsut flex till no bubbles and your set.
great to here its driving.

Wierd That 1 Bad Day Always Follows 1 Good
Complete a car, and my nissan gets hit
Anyone keeping up with my progress on the '85 hatchie has already read that I got it ready to drive yesterday so now I'm just waiting on the title. Today, wife and I get home from lunch and while we were gone, someone hit my 350z Slightly confused, slightly pissed, but staying calm, we take pictures of my car, in it's carport as well as pics of the car that normally is parked in the carport beside it but just happens to be parked on the other side of the parking lot today. Cop says it's considered a hit and run and he's going to have to track her down and if we cannot get her on it then it will end up being a hit and run on MY record and will affect MY insurance. If it comes to that I'm going to see if he can change it to vandalism instead of hit and run. I'll post the pics later. Left the camera at my parents again.
