Welcome!

I am willing to bet that your car was orginally sold in Germany. Your car appears to be equipped very similarly to the USDM Si model.

While you are checking for rust (and your car is no where near as bad as many we have seen) look at the panhard mount (under the car, just in front of the rear axle on the car's left side). If there is more than surface rust there, you will want to brace that section with fresh metal.

Sorry.. Did not see that.. Could somebody please move it? smile.gif

cbstdscott, thanks. Ill check!

Gotten a bit further (sorry if my english is bad)..

btw, this is just copied from another english forum.. Havent gotten around to writing comments on all the pictures..

------------------------

I've pretty much removed all the rust on the car.. It's going to be "rust welded" or "rust repaired" next week! The whole god damn car! I've got a m8 that makes a living out of it.. So the body of the car will be as good as new, if not better..

I've removed the old suspension in the front and installed the new ones.. I've also started reasembeling the car.. I'll change the rear suspension and all the brakes on the car when the rust repairing is done..

I've just bougth a LOT of new parts! On of them is a new engine with 160 BHP! It was tuned by Honda Norway.. wink.gif It's a ZC1.. That means that it's a D-series (I think)..

Anyway, pictures is better then words.. Atleast my bad english words.. tongue.gif

MEGA UPDATE

So... The last week I've been driving 45 Minutes (each way) just to get som work done on the CRX! I've got a friend who's a pro painter/welder/mechanic. So he has helped me A LOT! Huge thanks to him (he's going to paint the car later this year). Anyway.. I've cutted away all the rust, and removed all the paint.. Then we glued and welded metal to the car:) No more FU''ING rust! God damn.. The shittiest work I've EVER done.. NEVER EVER again.. Got the Steering wheel lock to work too smile.gif So all i need to start driving is the Fuel tank (removed it because we had to cut in the back seat).. Anyway.. Here's some pictures.. hope you like it:) And if anybody know where I can buy a new "Frame" for the sunroof/sliding roof, please tell me!

Then, finally back in my own workshop:
Started spraying the car black inside, and sprayed on "Tectyl" on the fueltank and underneath the whole car:) Dirty job.....

The EW engine is a pretty good design but needs bit of help breathing. Porting/polishing, raising compression, more agressive cam and larger throttlebody or sidedraft carbs wakes up that engine.

Replacing the centrifical advance springs in the bottom of the distributor with lighter springs is cheap, easy and very effective.

EW engine? the 1.5 that is in the car?

Ive got a ZC1 engine in the garage biggrin.gif yey.. smile.gif

Anyway, I was thinking about relocatin the battery.. All I need is a cable from the plus in the enginebay and back to the battery? Then just "plug" the - to the car ? (to the bare metal ofc)..

Worked 11 hours on the car this this fridays

The following got done:

Spraypainted the rest of the floor.
"Installed" the dampeningsmats from the backseat and all the way to the front, took me AGES to get finished...
Fastened the wires and fueltubes...
Installed the carped and the ECU

Hmm.. Dosent sound like much, but it was a lot of work! Glad I did it though.. The "original dampening mats" were 1-2mm thick, the ones I installed is 4mm. Some extra pounds, but less noice wink.gif

Well, now all the shitty work is done (rust welding and installing those damn mats). Installing the seats, the dash and so one takes about 1 hour. But it will look like Ive done very much, even though I havent.. smile.gif So, FINALLY some fun things to install smile.gif

Btw, Ive also painted the dashboard and the other interior parts black smile.gif
