First off, this is my first post on RPR. This site is great and that Wiki is freakin AWESOME!

NOW, I just paid $280 for a trans place to reseal the area between the bell housing and transmission in my 5 Speed 87 CRX Si FI.

I need to find the gasket that goes there, since the trans place obviously just tried to do it cheap and fuck me over by using only RTV...

If you guys could point me in the direction to buy one, I would appreciate it.

There is no gasket there. Honda uses their Hondabond sealant in that location. Permatex and loctite also sell an equivalent sealant.

no gasket. i would use honda's ultra flange. it's a little pricey, but perfect for aluminum to aluminum contact.

Those can be changed relatively easily without removing the engine from the car. You will need to remove the gearbox (obviously) and drop the oil pan though.

You might want to reconsider going to a different shop.

Are you saying you payed a "trans place" $280 to put RTV on the transmission/engine mounting flange because the rear seal was leaking?

I told them to seal the trans case, because I had my mind set on what was leaking, but I was wrong. So they did what I asked, instead of letting them diagnose the issue... its my own fault really.
