A stock B16A1 has been put in both cars. The 85-87 has a weight advantage of course. Besides that what are the pros and cons of each? Quarter mile and road racing? Brakes, suspension, handling..... who do you think wins?

Too many variables still. What other mods to each car?

hmm a brawl eh, well normally id say 1st gen, but since 2nd gens are so damn heavy and the drivers who drive them are dumb, the 1st gen wins

if both cars had the same mods tires and neither cars had weight reduction or equal amounts of it the 1g would have the advantage but then it would come down to the driver with equal drivers the 1g i think would have the advantage being it has less weight to pack around

ya I say it depends on the driver, but with good driver and good tire...i think the 1g would come out ahead...besides nothing..and mean nothing gets girls like a 1g...only real women love the 1g, so who cares who wins...the 1g gets the ladies smile.gif

Ignorant answers.

What if the 1g is an 86-87 Si and the 2g is an 88 HF? The 86-87 CRX Si is 1978 lbs and the 88HF is 1819.

WHO'S GOT THE ADVANTAGE NOW? The 2g is a much cheaper and easier swap as well.

With theoretically equal drivers and tires, the car with the lowest weight will win in the drags.

On a road course, the 2G has better suspension and brakes. If both are SI's then the 1G will have the weight advantage. The 1G has the advantage that you start with a lighter chassis and can lighten it further than a 2G. Mine is currently 1700lbs and will be 1500lbs next spring. The rear beam can be replaced with and IRS design from a number of cars with some welding. A first gen Neon with 4 control arms and using the CRX trailing arms would work well and reduce weight by quite a bit back there.

this is a pretty ignorant statement.........ive had both 2g and 1g crx's and dont consider myself to be "dumb". btw 2g's arent as heavy as everyone makes them out to be.....

the stock 2gs handle better then the stock 1g, but the 1gs are usually lighter. depends a lot on what has been done to each car, what type of race, tires, and the drivers.

This is a "which is better, the 1G or 2G CRX" thread in disguise.

And bench racing sucks.

I plotted all the possible scenarios and modifications into my Deskracer 2000 Super Computer, and the 1st gen wins all but the NOPI Jello wrestling.
