Hi Folks - Havent posted here much recently, but finally Im finding time.

I know its a long shot, but does anyone have some NOS (or near equivalent) 1G aluminum drums & backing plates theyd sell? Willing to pay a fair price. Thanks.

You don’t need the backing plates.  I have aluminum drums on my SI backing plates and have owed DX Base models that I put them on without issue as well.

Excellent info. Thanks Victor.

Other than routine maintenance, Im a relative newbie on CRXs as far as upgrades, rebuilding, restoration, swaps, etc. But I did build an ERA Cobra and have done body-on restorations on early Corvettes.

All good happy to help.  The drums will be tough to find but you may be able to find some 00-06 Honda Insight drums, which were also made of aluminum.  These will require modifications to the backing plates.  I never did this but a search on here may find some information on it.

Thanks for your help / ideas Victor. I found a BNIB set over on InsightCentral. I think your idea of opening up the grove on the drums is good. Should be pretty quick & easy with a dremel bit.
