Ecu Removal After De-Vac

14 May 2015 - 01:50 PM

Hey folks, I had a successful devac on my 85 HF.  I was wondering if it is now safe to remove the ECU from under the passenger seat to free up a little more storage space.  Is there anything that the ECU would still be controlling, other than maybe the annoying "shift" light?  Thanks!

Steering Angle Sensor

20 January 2015 - 11:22 AM

Hey guys, I'm looking at replacing my steering column combo switch on my 85 CRX HF.  The headlights will occasionally die, so I'm looking to replace with the combination switch from another model.  My question is this:  on my current switch, when looking a the rear of the unit where the electrical connectors plug in, there is a single pin connector above the turn signal/headlight connector.  The service manual says this is a steering angle sensor switch that runs directly to the fuse box.  The replacement part that I have does not have a pin in this connector.  Does anyone know what this does?  From the manual, it seems like this part is only on the HFs.  I don't see where installing a switch without that connector would do any harm, as it doesn't actually seem to control anything.  Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.  I should be installing the new switch soon, and will see if it has any negative effects.

85 Hf Devac Question

25 November 2014 - 10:23 PM

Hey guys, I'm new here and this is my first post.  I love this site, tons of info, and people who are actually helpful!  I had a question for everyone.  I'm doing a devac on my 85 HF, and ran into a snag.  I don't have an air jet controller.  After looking through the FSM, it seems that there is a version of the HF that didn't come with one, which would be the version I have I guess.  Does anyone have a recommendation on how to finish the procedure without one, or if there is a substitute.  I've seen several on fleabay that are for Honda motorcycles, I'm just not sure if they'd even work.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
