Hey all my name is Justin I live in north San Gabriel, 9 miles from DTLA and own a '87 CRX Si
i am a noob to car mods but know what some things mean but not all things
(i.e. i had to look up what DOHC stood for)

I was wanting to know where to start on modding my ride

also i wanted to know if the story i have to tell can be an experience that i had or if it had to be a scary story involving ghosts?

peace
JT

So you read the rules then?

Haha, good.

Start with suspension.

I started with the suspension (front and rear swaybars, rear coilovers, front strut tower bar, then i added a cam. once I get my head back from getting built I'll throw on the cam gear i have and the webber carbs...or maybe sooner...

^^^ I would agree, well actually start out with what needs addressing first I.E. proper maintenance to make sure you are "A ok."

But yeah most likely the suspension is all wore out and spongy and makes for some killer body roll, Tighten it up suspension wise, and it will show you truly what these cars EXCEL at..

WELCOME TO THE 1/gen crx, 3/gen civic bible!!

FRONT FIRST! But do it as evenly as you can, here's what I suggest on a limited budget:

In this order

1) Tokico Illumina's on all corners
2) Good tires, no need for "nice" wheels on a limited budget, put the money that you were going to put into wheels and put it in tires.
3) Rear coil overs
4) Torsion bars
5) Front sway bar and front strut bar
6) Rear sway bar and rear strut bar
7) Brake swap!

Id probably start first with a good Tune-Up.

Spark Plugs(NGK V-power)
Spark Plug Wires (NGK)
Distrubitor Cap and Rotor
Oil and Filter Change
Tranny Fluid Drain and Fill
Fuel Filter
Drain and Fill Radiator/Coolant
New Thermostat
Valve Adjustment
Any leaking gaskets
Timing Belt and Tensioner(OEM Honda)
Water Pump
New Rotors, Pads, Drums, Shoes, Wheel Cylinders, and Bleed the brakes.
New Struts/Shock Absorbers
Upgrade and Replace Ground Wires
New Battery Cables
Lower Ball joints and new Tie Rod ends(Alignment aftewards)

All of that should get you back to 99%, Then you can start on the performance mods.

Good Intake system or drop in filter
Header, Better flowing Exhaust
Upgraded Springs, Torsion bars
Replace worn out supension bushings
Upgraded swaybars and Endlinks
Wheels/Tires
Maybe some motor work or a D16A1/ZC motor swap.

Come on guys! Where to start!

1.. CHECK THE ENTIRE CAR FOR RUST!!!!! (Fix or discard)

2.. Normal maintenance(Oil and filter, air filter , plugs, flush and new coolant, tranny fluid, fuel filter, etc.)
Think before you speak, learn before you think, listen so that you may learn to think before speaking a bunch of shit!

No fried rice please!
