I am rebuilding my CRX for the 3rd time. Last I had a B18A1 with a ys1 cable trans. I am not sure what trans I should use with the B16 for daily driving duty. Is it worth doing a hydro conversion or should I just look for a cable trans?

For a daily I'd get a decent cable box. Minimum changes required. If you can't find a decent one then go hydro.
Note that you can replace synchros if they start crunching, and synchro springs if they start slipping out of gear - replacements are available via ebay.

If you can find one a YS1 from a 92-93 GSR would be nice.
Mind you there is no way of telling it's from a GSR unless you count teeth
or know first hand it's from a GSR.
B16's need short gearing

I'd vote for the Y1 w/LSD. I love mine on the B20, but I'm sure the tranny is better with the VTEC B series engines. Because all of the the "consumable" parts are the same as the 90-91 Integra S1 tranny in the states it is not hard to get synchros or clutches. But gears, final drive and differential are a different story, best just buying another tranny if you need one of these.
