ok, i'm getting fuel. but i don't think i'm getting spark. i checked the coil, and it seems dead. but it did try to fire like twice. it kind of sputtered then died. i'm changing the coil and wires, but if it doesn't start would it be something wrong with the carb? it doesn't look dirty. can anything get out of wack after sitting for a few years? i'ts new gas, too.

btw, specs: 87 DX. stock as all get out. new dist. cap, rotor, plugs. just wondering if something could go bad in the carb. but it is getting fuel .

check your coil and check if the power source for the coil is working..

if you wanna do a spark test, pull your plug wires and insert an old spark plug into one of them. Let the side of th eplug touch a good ground on the car and then tgry starting the car. You shoudl see the plug sparking.. just dont touch it when the ignition is on!

also check your distributer and cap, plug wires,

if those are all good then pour a tiny bit of gas into your carb and see if that makes a difference when you start it..
EXPLOSIVO!

Make sure your firing order is correct. Set the motor at TDC and pull off the distributor cap. Make sure the rotor is pointing at the #1 spark plug position.

sounds like if you are getting fuel you might have flooded it check the plugs make sure they are ok....other than that make sure you got spark and all and the rotor isn't on backwards or something like that lol

You can get varnish in the carb if its been sitting a long time. if you floor the throttle you should see fuel spray from the pump jet.

Going to Hawaii? You need a Dune Buggy.

WTB: 14x8 or 9" Panasports or Watanabe RS.
