Did you ever get it painted? I would love to see pictures of where it sits as of now. Keep on pushing!

Never had any paint work, a friend used a pinstripe removal tool on the doors just for fun and it gave it a funny gloss look. I will try to clean it up(remove it from the garage and remove the boxes off of it) and get some current pictures. These years have been a mental back and forth over appearance or power. Currently I am set on power/reliability then get the cosmetic stuff done.

Any particular reason why you decided to do a swap?  I would imagine your car would have more value if you were able to keep the drive train stock and maybe even add Mugen parts to it.  Glad to hear your still working on it!

I agree 100% about the value stock. That is why I do not want to cut/bang/weld any chassis stuff. I will keep every part I remove to reinstall later if I want. The engine in it now is not the original/numbers matching anyway. I'm an auto tech for Hyundai so I've got plenty of tools and skills it's just the time and parts needed. The swap would have been started sooner but I drove the "wrecked" civic for 2 years as a daily because it drove so good! Then when a car seat was required the coupe was finally out of daily duty. Adding Mugen parts would be great if it returns to EW3 engine and gets cleaned up. I would like an actual Mugen header panel but I might eventually get the hood that is mounded like the header panel is attached.

Wow, I did not know what slow play was when I started this thread! Long time no post and I'm the only one to blame. I use the lame excuse of life(work, sleep, kid, school). I am currently taking steps to install a D16Y8 but only if I can do so without modifying the car in any way that cannot be undone. I have already removed the complete drive train from a 98 Civic EX and have figured the wiring down to a few grounds and power wires to allow the engine that allow it to run on the floor of my job. This will allow me to use simple relayed switches inside the car to start the engine and the ignition key will only unlock the steering wheel. I have opted for the Hasport mounts in hope they will ease the process of actually getting the motor in and running. Planning on Hasport or Innovative cable to hydro clutch adapter, adaptation of both vehicles axles(if possible) and modification of the Civics shifter to fit the CRX. Again I absolutely do not want to cause any unnecessary changes to the CRX body just for this engine. The drive train parts that come out of this chassis will be kept in order to return its stockness if needed. It was a battle to just find the funds for the mounts and I am not sure about the cost of modifying the axles. I hope the slowness will become more speedy and I want to share my actual install of this setup in the car. So bump to my way too long forgotten thread with hopes to have it running by spring for some autocross fun.
