i will agree i owend a 89 si y49 for 6 months i thoght i was fine then the cused stuff started to happen to it.

like th eone tha stumped even honda for 2 days of coputer dianostics.

heres what would happen.
if the headlights were ON your above 4000rpm your turn signle is on and your gasing the car. i would loss all electrical power lights dimed and car would die till i let off the gas.

turned out to be the curcit board on the back of the speedoclutster was fried so bad it was burnt so it would re rout power though other areas but when i was using that route as well it woudl over load the car.

then i had a bad vac leak in the booster.

thenwent to sell it and got riped off form a mecanic saying it needed a new rad tbelt, valvecover, and some other stuff that came to over 500bucks of stuff.

yah i was not interested at first because of the Y-49, but it is in such nice shape, i will be the third owner, the guy before me had it for 15 years and then the original owner was a 60+ guy that bought it for who knows why, and the curese is there if you believe in it, if not a believer then it shouldn't be there, thats what i think, a car is a car, all colors have issues its just that the poor little yellow ones have had their name dragged thru the mud thats all...

as for the car it is an 89 si with 167000km'ish, interior is mint, and i paid less for it then i did my old 89 dx, so i figure i got an awesome deal, and the si is in MUCH better shape...

Yellow is a bad color for a Honda. My old 84 1500S will agree. I'd have the car parked and people still hit it, even in my driveway. Once it was hit, again while parked, hard enough to put a hole in the radiator and the person left. Me believing or not, I didn't at that time, had nothin to do with it getting hit so often. I'd also have people always pulling out RIGHT in front of me, too close to brake, luckily there was alway some place safe to turn toward.

Blacksheep is the smartest person I know, he painted that car black.

It still will be y-49 under it. sad.gif There is a ghost story involving this color, somewhere on this site.

The entire tool selection at Sears or the contents of a Snap-On truck will do you no good if you do not know how to use them.
