DISCLAIMER - I am not responsible for you locking your silly butt out of your car!
I keep forgetting to mention this whenever I log on to RPR.
And I'm not sure if this has been posted before.
Hondas are made so you have to use the key to lock the driver's door.
To lock the driver's door without the key. pull either the inside or the outside door handle and you can move the lock easily.
I use my left hand, and open the door and flip the lock in one motion when I get out of the car.
This is true on all early Hondas.
I figured this out on my 1975 CVCC Civic.
However, I have locked myself out of my car a couple of times.
Once I was saved by my AAA plastic backup key that looks like a credit card.
Another time, I locked my 75 Civic with the engine running and the tape deck playing.
Fortunately, I left the rear quarter window open, and just removed the window to get into the car.
A police officer drove by as I was removing the window, and said "I assume that is YOUR car"
I looked at him and replied "Well, no one else would admit to locking the car with the engine running and the tape deck playing".
He laughed, asked if I needed help ("No"), and drove off.

You're Mad!
Well thank God for that, 'cause if I wasn't, this would probably have never worked.

Been doing that same thing for years...... and I REALLY need to STOP DOING IT.
Locked the keys in it twice this year already.

It has even less content than the Elise, is less graceful looking

I broke my rear quarter trying to reach the lock on my '80 1500GL. You do that once (pre-internet/pre-ebay) and you kinda remember for a really long time. Although, I forgot when I was moving my white hatchie to the new house. I still haven't found my other key.
Honda, because it's hard to look baller in your mom's Volvo.
The entire tool selection at Sears or the contents of a Snap-On truck will do you no good if you do not know how to use them.

I have a seperate set of keys w/ a simple Honda key chain otherwise I keep a sec. key on my wallet chain. So I'm never w/out a backup.
That must have took some serious thought on how to lock the door, thanks for the tip......
