#549119 1g Header Panel In Great Shape; 84-85 Flush-mount Shrouds And Brackets

Posted by OG Wagon on 25 January 2013 - 09:46 PM in FS

Like the title states, came across these the other day.

Header Panel is likely aftermarket (fiberglass), though I am not positive. This is an 84/85 panel, but will fit 86/87 models just fine. A couple of the mounting tabs have cracks/missing portions. However, enough "meat" is there for each to mount just fine using a larger washer under your bolt. I ran one MUCH worse than this for a couple of years, no problem.

Asking $65, pick-up local, no shipping. NO shipping. My zip: 28115

Headlight Shrouds are for the 84/85 model. They are in great shape and also include the metal bracket that helps them to mount to the above header panel.

Asking $40 shipped for the set. Shipped via USPS with tracking. Paypal only, type personal or add 4% for fees. Cali buyers: add $2 for extra shipping costs.

Please text only as I am rarely on here (704) 928-7324, Thanks -Dan

PS- Long time no see. I hope you are all doing well!

#549118 84-85 1g Corner Lights (smoked); In Great Shape

Posted by OG Wagon on 25 January 2013 - 09:37 PM in FS

Came across these recently. They are in great shape, just need a good cleaning/degreasing and polishing. The tabs are all perfect, and no spider-webbing around the screw holes.

There is one small hair-line (under) fracture on one lens, where my finger is pointing to. By "under", I mean that the crack is from underneath the surface, and the top-surface is still just fine/smooth to the touch. I'm just being picky by even telling you this. Most people would hardly even notice. They are really, 9.5 out of 10, considering their age.

$65 shipped for the set, or $35 shipped for each single light. Paypal as type personal or add 4% for fees. Shipped via USPS w/ tracking. Cali buyers: add an extra $2 on top of price for extra shipping costs.

Text only, as I"m rarely on here. -Dan (704) 928-7324

#535779 Another H.i.d. Thread

Hey Zach,
My advice would be to search for "slim ballast" kit on Ebay, and preferably labeled "german engineered". I forgot the name of my last kit, but it was excellent quality.

All of them are really the same though, when your spending less than $100. I'm sure there are some really pimp-daddy kits out there, but I woudn't worry about it. Spend your money on go-fast parts, or better yet, save it. Hell, unless Ron Paul get's into office, you'll need that cash!!!

As for bulbs, I've always dug (not the "bi-xenon") the Hi/Low bulbs. Its an HID/Xenon low beam, with a halogen high beam. All built into the same bulb. So, you could be cruising around with the HID's running, and if a cop rolls up, or if you are following someone down a country road for a while, you could switch to halogens and run a more traditional lighting for a bit. They don't cost a single bit more than the xenon-low (no high function) kits, but you just have to look a little bit harder to find one.

Temp: I like 4300/5000 best. Has an OEM look, and makes the highest light output. Hard to find in stock though, since most of the ricers like 8K and up. 6K is most common, and is really as high as people advise to go if you still want a solid light output. When it get's "too" blue, you are just putting candy on the car, not lighting.

Hope this all helps!

Believe me when I say that I would be as tempted as you to lower that car another inch. but if I had a car like that I probably would have to force myself to resist the temptation. Lol I personally think that they ride pretty nice. Especially the type s with the leather seats. I will also tell you that that color blue is absolutely my favorite color that that car came in. you have done a beautiful job cleaning it up, especially those headlights. very clean and simple. I am not necessarily a huge fan of swapping the honda badges on, but at least you did it very clean and all the way through. I know there are a lot of people that give these car is a lot of grief, I think it is mostly because of how much they weigh. But as far as modern day safety regulations are concerned, I think that this is as good as it is going to get. you've done a very beautiful and tasteful job dan. I love it!

Thanks Cam, I appreciate the kind words bro. It is nice not having to be so paranoid about driveways, entering gas stations, etc... at the current ride height. It would be a while though before I could afford to purchase some coils for the car anyway though. They are quite pricey for the DC5's. I've still got to swap out the door sills to Intergra units, and perhaps do something about the mats, perhaps a type r swap. For now though, I certainly won't lose sleep, ha!

How's the life and the CRX treating you? Did you ever sell those sweet daddy seats that were just a bit too high for your rex?

And after the shoot, I put back on my favorite add-on thus far

Future Plans
- Window Visors and (possibly) sunroof visor
- PJDM PowerChamber intake; Battery relocation
- Misc tuck and cosmetic work in engine bay
- Swap for cleaner Type-S leather seats
- Hondata ECU Re-Flash
- Coil-overs (drop about another 1")
- Performance Exhaust

Hope you guys like it. I'm open to all opinions, good or bad.

Thanks for looking, Dan

Nice project you've got going here, and some really great looking exterior parts and wheels came along!

Agreed, good call on keeping with the drums. Did you go for the aluminum drums? If not, don't worry about it. Hell, swapping out those backing plates is a HUGE pita, mainly just in releasing the ebrake cable connections from the old plate=nightmare.

Anyway, I've always taken Scott's advise in regard to aluminum drums>disc swap. Actually, I've made it a general rule to follow Scott's advise on everything on the forum. laugh.gif

Got to say though, that first pic with the car up on the dolly and the straps putting (what looks to be) a good amount of pressure on top of those original aerodiscs is painful to see. Hope they made it home in tact and in one piece for you!

Love the aero kit/louvers/Mugen decal combo. Going to be OG, and oh-so era-appropriate when done.

Keep it up and keep us posted as well! -Dan
