I copied down the code yesterday. from what I've found it's a 1986 Wagovan, made in Saitamam, Japan. but that's all I could find out.

I think the "VN" should be "AN"
and if it helps, I scrubbed the head and found the code "PE3 - 2 Z"

i think its a honda i didn't know that wagovans had a bunch of trim levels...i thought they were 2wd or 4wd
There are 3 goals when modding a car.
Cheap, Reliable, and Fast.
Now the down side. You only get to pick 2...
Fact: A recent study shows that 92% of all teenagers have turned Emo.
Put this in your sig if you're one of the 8% who stayed gangster as $h!t.

Honda, because it's hard to look baller in your mom's Volvo.
The entire tool selection at Sears or the contents of a Snap-On truck will do you no good if you do not know how to use them.

yea I'm still new to these classic Civics but I need to know what engine is in the thing so I can pick up a new timing belt and head gasket. if it helps the wago has a sunroof, security bars across the rear side windows, A/C, and it's 5 speed FWD

head gasket and timing belt is the same for the LX DX and Si.
BTW: if you go to autozone, tell them you need a headgasket and timing belt for a D15A2 engine. They will be like and then tell you its not in the computer.
Instead order one of these here. Head gasket. And a timing belt. You will spend less and not have the frustration of having to deal with an idiot.

it sucks that everyone thinks that people who work at auto stores are idiots
In their defense. I miss gateway autoparts. This was an auto parts store that had retired and exmechanics and mechanics that needed a second job behind the counter. I never had a problem finding what I needed, and the staff knew what else would be a genuine alternative to solve my problem. Chief auto used to be the same, (or atleast in my area) and by Area I mean 500 mile radius. So if anyone in this 500 mile radius wants to tell me where there is not an idiot behind the counter, I will gladly go shop at their store. It gets bad when I need a job and I can teach the manager how to operate their computer to get the part that I want but they wont hire me, because(insert reason here)
No, not all people that work at autostores are idiots. I just haven't found one in my area that wasn't.

How can I say this politely. DUUUUUUUHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Was I the only person that read BigOranges swap post? Unless you are referring to the fact that it wasn't availible in a 1.3 then thats something to know.

assuming you are in vancouver from your thread, lordco has parts for an 85 wagonvan on their system and can get a head gasket for you easily. I just priced one for an 85 wagovan before I discovered the block was warped.
