It appears that Giltaran is going to take it all off my hands. You guys can start bugging him for the really rare parts, he is going to have plenty.

Yup, I'm real glad I found Giltaran. Sure didn't want to haul it all to the crusher. He drove up in the twin to the car I was selling right down to the color.
TJ, you may remember me, I'm the guy who came up from Albuquerque and bought an 87 Si transmission from you a few years back. Assuming you are the same TJ that used to have a website called TJ's Hondas. Your list of cars & location makes me think you are the same guy. I put the tranny in my CRX and drove it until it developed the same problem the original got, a bad center bearing. I even bored the flywheel and installed a pilot bearing to try and ease the load on the center bearing. I guess I just loved to keep the engine up in it's powerband to much. The motor loves it, but the tranny apparently didn't.
Just so all you guys know, Giltaran will soon be the proud owner of an complete extra set of plastic from a first gen 87 Si. Front bumper w/spoiler, grill panel, front fenders, lower door garnish, rocker panels and rear wing, everything but the rear bumper. I bet if enough people are interested, you could get him to have a set of molds pulled from them. I suggested it to him and he seemed receptive.

Hey, Whats up. I made a donation and my member status didn't change. Got a reciept saying Tom got the donation. Wasn't it enough? I'm just a poor unemployed idiot who is now even poorer with nothing to show for it.

Gil,
Check the key switch first if the distributor isn't getting power in the run position. If your diagnosis leads you to the ECU, let me know and we can try a different one (from one of my '87 Si's). I am also located in 'Burque (or "The Q" as the mayor calls it) in the NE heights. PM me for my address & phone # if you need to. Of course you could always buy my collection which is for sale, you are close enough that picking it up wouldn't be much of a problem.

Hey MadMax,
Google maps says 860 miles from Cypress TX to here. Even at 10 mi/gal that is less than $500 round trip for diesel. It will definately all fit in a 28 ft gooseneck as long as it is wide enough to get a car inside. Since I have had no bites on it here in Albuquerque and I don't want to haul it to the salvage yard, I'll cut the price by $200 to help cover the cost of your fuel. There is a guy north of Sante Fe who is looking for a set of suspension parts that I will hook you up with to help with the cost even more. Interested now? PM me your email and phone # and I'll send you pictures and/or call to tell you more about what I have. Definitely want this to go to an enthusiast who will appreciate it.
