Chassis/main Harness In Engine Bay Identification

03 March 2014 - 01:39 PM

I need help identifying the wires in my harness. I am rerouting all of it and removing unnecessary stuff(drag car custom engine harness) the harness that does NOT have the headlight wiring in it..what is it for. The service manual isn't very clear on this and I only have a phone no computer. Car is 1986 DX crx. Also the harness I'm speaking of is the one that runs on bottom of rad support and only contains like 6 wires or so. I would like to remove it basically and please don't say I can't etc just help my identify what it is for.

Drag 1G Crx

02 October 2013 - 12:58 PM

I built my 86 crx dx into a drag car in 5 days last week. Hit the drag strip in Hebron Ohio for Import Faceoff on September 29. It was my first time drag racing anything on a strip. I am running a jdm b16a with LSD trans, ebay turbo, arp head studs, 1000cc FID injectors, 3 bar map, ectune done by the famous Tom Sewell. Makes around 340 hp on 20 psi on a Dynomite(one of the lowest reading dynos)on 24.5" slicks I was pulling 1.76 60's and 12.2 quarters. Had a slight fuel issue due to a factory non baffled dx fuel tank every launch all fuel would go to back and id lose fuel in second gear for probably. 2/10s. Safe to say I have an 11 second car. Looking to go bigger next year.

B Series Swap Using 86-89 Integra Axles, Track Width Issue.

23 August 2013 - 07:29 AM

Well, I have my jdm b16a in and mounted with the Hasport kit. I modified some eg hubs and pressed them into the factory 86 CRX spindles. Now when I went to install the integra axles they were a bit too long. Not a HUGE difference, but enough that I can't slide the shock into the spindle. I did some research previously on the track width of both the. 86 Crx and the 86 integra and there was a difference. Then I of course used the search menu and. Found that the lower control arms are indeed different. But what about the spindles, are they offset further outboard or are they identical to the crx aside from the caliper mount and spline of the hub? If I can change to the integra parts and solve the issue that would be great, but if not I am just going to shorten the shafts

Odd B Series Question

08 August 2013 - 05:52 PM

I have an 86 crx dx non efi obviously. But anyways I just slapped a jdm b16a with lsd trans in with hasport mounts, but my question is why is it that the stock crx linkage bolted right to the b16 trans. The stabilizer bar and everything was perfect and still bolted to stock location on the floor. Its so weird. I've done a billion swaps but never an 84-87 and was super confused by this haha. Its not really important. Anyways this b16 will be making about 400whp on 20psi.
